Its been two months, two days and some hours, since I sent my passport to Singapore. No decision made and no reply to the email sent either. Checked my spam and everything no communication was made from their part.

If I only knew this would happen I would start celebrating monthly anniversaries. Let's hope the next week will be our week, I am starting to get frustrated.
It took about three weeks for me to get a decision made other people about a month then a month and two days to get the passport back.... If it has been two months and no decision made I would contact them I hear sometimes when there's a problem with your extra paper work or medical the stuff seems to take forever to get back... Had your medical expired?

Hey guys, normally how long does it take from sponsor approval to Singapore AOR to In process if there are no major issues in the application?

In our case:

Sponsorship approval to Singapore AOR = 8 days

Singapore AOR to In Process = 9 months 20 days

We had no issues.

That's exactly right! Inbetween the Singapore AOR and "In Process", we heard absolutely nothing from the CIC.

Actually you know what, the timeline I mentioned earlier should've been more detailed. Actually it should be this:

Singapore AOR to 2nd medical request = 9 months 11 days

2nd medical exam request to "In Process" = 9 days.

My wife did her 2nd medical exam 3 days before "In Process". In fact, her status became "In Process" on the exact same day that the medical clinic confirmed that they had uploaded her medical results to the eMedical system.

Calgary here I come!!
I'm a provincial nominee, applied in Nov 2011, In process in Feb 2014 and to think that my documents have been already reviewed once by the province in 2009.... -_-

Seems like there's not much news of sgvo processing this week, hopefully next week is our week. All this waiting has really led to many sleepless nights...

I was thinking of doing a new medical right before our old one expires and sending to CIC instead of waiting for them to request it, because I think if they request it, it would delay the application a little

You don't wanna do that.

When the CIC sent my wife the 2nd medical exam request (via email), they sent a PDF file (IMM 1017) already pre-filled with information such as her date of birth, UCI, file number, home address, email address, and phone number. And she was instructed to bring it to the panel physician.

And most importantly, the form also has a unique ID called "IME" (consists of 8 digits). Underneath the IME number is a barcode.

I don't even know what it stands for, but this IME number wasn't mentioned in the Singapore AOR letter, and the first time my wife saw it was when she got that 2nd medical request.

So I doubt it's a good idea to do the 2nd exam without having that special form.

It's best that your wife waits till the CIC requests her to do the 2nd exam :).

About the same...roughly 9 to 12 months since the sponsorship approval. And then 12 more months (or even more) before the interview takes place.

Gosh, this is nightmare! I am not sure if we should send an email to CIC to check on the application status. Like I mentioned my husband spoke with his local MP and they said CIC recommended them to do a follow up after 4mths which due in June 2014. Any advice?

You can do that.....just follow up with your MP after 4 months. Won't hurt.

About the interview request: not everyone will get that. So don't worry for now. If you submitted sufficient relationship proofs, and if your relationship's genuine, you shouldn't be required to attend an interview...

The thing is my wife and I plan to have a baby in late 2015, so that means the latest we can "make one" is March 2015, which will be around the time CIC will request a re-med, and you cannot do a re-med while pregnant. We initially planned on doing a re-med in December 2014, which will give us a valid med exam until Dec 2015, and we plan on doing that before making a baby. But if you say we cannot do a re med ourselves, so that means we would have to hope we don't get a remed request, otherwise we will have to wait for my wife to give birth in late 2015 before getting a remed :(

I totally sympathise with you. In fact the medical exam is the very reason why my wife and I haven't engineered a baby so far. We thought that if she was pregnant, it could delay the application process. Which is why so far we've been (intentionally) babyless........

But I'll show you a few more options that you can discuss with your wife:

1. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/pregnancy-and-medical-exam-t125043.0.html;msg1889493#msg1889493

(I personally would never risk it. Not even with the protective shield.)

2. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/pregnancy-and-medical-exam-t125043.0.html;msg1891800#msg1891800

(I probably would've chosen the 2nd option just like what that guy (PA5510N) did (going forward with the med exam, but delaying the x-ray part till after the baby's birth. I have a feeling, however, that it could delay the application process. I guess it depends on your priority: having a baby by late 2015, or getting your wife's PR as soon as possible. Just curious though: what's the reason behind the late 2015 deadline for the baby? Is your wife approaching 30 yrs old? Or is it a superstition thing? (such as, wanting the baby to have a certain zodiac, etc?))

If applying via the Singapore office, I believe it's pretty rare NOT to get a remed request though. Principal applicants that have more chance of not getting a remed request are usually from places like Europe, the US, Australia, etc.

Having said that, I know someone who applied via Singapore, who got her PR in only 6 months. That's very rare of course...but if it could happen to her, it could happen to you too....nobody knows...
