Hope all goes well :)

hi singaporeVO. I have just ordered GCMS note. I will share my experience regarding that. Firstly i filled out IMM5563 and IMM5475 with the payment receipt and my husbands proof of citizenship i emailed them these forms. They immidiately responded and said to fill out the new form IMM 5744. Again i had to fill out the new form. I chose acess to information. Although the privacy act is free but thats when the canadian citizen will ask info for theirselves not onbehalf of anyone. As i am the applicant i can not chose that. I ticked singapore as the visa office and under what document to order i chose immigration file for parmanent residence. Not status of the file . if i chose only status of file then they will only send one line about recent file status. To get the whole data one should click immigration file. Then i scaned all the forms again and send them. i dont know the size though. This time after sending they did not resend it. So i guess i filled it properly because otherwise they will always contact for correction. I guess sending my email is a good option as u can get response for corection so quickly. I hope these info helps :)

Hi Mehfuza: Your description tells me pretty much everything. Much much thanks for your time. While I was printing IMM5563, I found it was longer than Letter/A4 sized paper. It is legal sized. I think we need to sign it before scan it back to attach with our emails. So I had to print it in a commercial place and scan it back for a soft copy after signing it. Great help from you, Mehfuza. Appreciate it again.

Hi shiny88: Thanks again. Yeah, I noticed that Copy of one of the IDs like PR Card, Citizenship Card, Canadian Passport; or proof of Canadian address has to be attached with the application, if applicant is not living in Canada or so. By the way, how's going your health ?? Hope everything is fine. Best of luck with your future generation. Thanks again.

I am at the hospital since morning waiting my daughter to come.

URGENT ISSUE
I'm posting on behalf of a friend.

His wife is currently in Canada on a tourist visa and they have been waiting for PR approval for 2 years.

Her medical expires on March 1st 2013.
She got her passport request on Dec. 4, 2012.
Her Thai passport expires in June, 2013.

They have plans to travel to Thailand on February 20th, 2013 and stay for about 2.5 months.

Originally, they delayed sending the passport because they wanted to go Singapore in person at the end of February after renewing her Thai passport in Thailand. Then they wanted to go back to Thailand for a 2 month holiday. There may have been a misunderstanding about how the medical and passport expiry dates will affect the process at this point so they are now unsure of what to do right now. I went through this process about 2 years ago but I forget all the details and don't know if any rules have changed.

Today, Singapore sent an email to them regarding the situation. I'm guessing Singapore was expecting the passport in the mail because the request was on Dec. 4th and they didn't get it yet, so they sent an email. The email said that they had two options.
A) Send passport in mail as quick as possible and they would try speed up the process and have it back to Canada before February 20th for their travels.
B) Get extension on visa and renter Canada on a temporary residency visa, and wait for an extension of the medical to be processed after it expires.

Option A looks like it would work, but I remember something about the passport needing to be valid for a certain time frame upon stamping or entering Canada or something.
How would her passport expiring in June 2013 affect Option A?

WOW! Lost for word here. They got PP request on Dec. 4th and they thought she would go to Singapore in person at the end of February? Hm, they must have strong heart.

Only thing I may suggest is that she can extend her Passport Expiration date asap from Thai Embassy in Canada (if they allow it, since it will expire in June anyway) and send the PP to Singapore VO and get them back here in Canada with Stamping. Then she can cross the border to US and return for landing purposes. Then she can leave for holidays and her friend (i.e.m husband's relatives) here in Canada can send her PR card to her in Thailand, which she will use to return.

I believe they inquired into getting the passport renewed and that and it takes a month to get a new passport at a Thai embassy in Canada. It only takes a couple of days in Thailand though but they don't want to change their travel date of Feb. 20 or have to travel before then.

My parents immigration application has been processed by Case Processing Pilot in Ottawa.

They finished medical check May 2012 - got medical received status - and sent in the security check and fingerprint to Case Processing Pilot in Ottawa.

After 3 months, in December 2012, we received a status update from Singapore Visa Section saying that "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2012/12/22."

Vietnam immigration is handled by Singapore. The online status still say that they started processing the application in October 12, 2012.

Just wondering what does this mean? Is their case suddenly changed to the worst and being delayed and processing in Singapore? Or is this passport request pending?

Thanks!

The Canadian Consulate in Dhaka was closed when I visited Dhaka last year. I remember when it was open, the interviews would happen quickly. I even know someone whose whole process got done in 5 months in the year 2010.

Does anyone know if it is open again? There is a Canadian High Commissioner working in BD now.

They shut it down apparently to cut costs and according to them the VAC in Bangladesh is enough for applications coming from Bangladesh.
