Hi everyone!

I have some questions for those who have already landed in Canada:

1) How long did it take for you to receive your VISA after you submit your passport?

2) Did you have to do a re-medical when you got your PPR?

I'm just trying to gauge how long it would take to have a "Decision Made" or Visa issued. I submitted my passport to SVO on the 4 Jan 2012. They said "please allow 2 weeks to process your visa" and guess what? Their 2 weeks is up! I'm just waiting for a phonecall to tell me that my passport is ready. I'm hoping SVO will at least stick to this guarantee of "2 weeks" since we've been waiting so long for everything else already.

Im waiting for a phone call since i submitted all docs last december.

My hubby personally went on 1st week jan and they said it is is stil in process.... they will just cal.
No change in ecas.

My medical was sent last dec 13.

All my other docs 1st week dec.

I had no idea you could personally head down to ask for a status update. Do you think it might be a different timeline as you've applied through FSW1? Was your medical a request to re-med then send in your docs with your passport?

Its 4am in Victoria BC and I still can't sleep!!! Yesterday ECAS was changed from "application received" at the Singapore VO office to "In process". My wife and I were ecstatic and thought we would hear from the VO within a few weeks!!!

HOWEVER I got a email from my wife at 2am with an email saying this...

WOW what a great 2 days! overall the process 8 months to get to this point. We are planing for her to spend TET holiday in Vietnam and then land by mid March.

SOOOOOO keep hope everyone, I had just come back from a visit to Vietnam last week and when we left my wife was pretty down about not knowing when we could meet the next time.

I hope everyone else here great speed in getting their approvals!
