Hi everyone,

I have a huge problem and I would appreciate some help :/
So, I am an international (exchange) student staying in Canada from September 2012 to April 2013. For some strange reasons, my study permit expires already today (only three weeks before my program ends...).
Since I am working on campus as an assistant, I need a Social Insurance Number (which I have) in order to be payed.
Now I have applied for extension of my study permit in the first week of February, and I am still waiting. The processing time seems to be two and a half months. The problem: my SIN Card expires today as well.
I am leaving Canada in three weeks and I of course want to be payed for the remaining time as well. I fear that this study permit wont arrive before I leave Canada anyway. However, I need to extend the SIN.
Is there any way I can do that without a study permit? Or any other way to solve this problem?
I would really appreciate any comment.
Thank you so much!!

1. There was option to apply for OCWP with study permit extension.
2. As you're working on Campus, you don't need OCWP.
So i think you're good to work .
But please double-check with other members, I'm not so sure.

Since you applied for extension of your study permit before it expired, you will have implied status which allows you to continue working on campus and with the expired SIN until a decision is made. Here's the information:
