Silly question...

Okay, sorry in advance if this is too silly a question, but I really want to do this application right. On the Sponsored Spouse / Partner Questionnaire it says to fill in all the boxes in upper case letters. I am doing several of the questions on a separate sheet and wondered if they also need to be done in upper case. My common sense says yes, but I also don't want to send in the app and have them wonder why the hell this lady is typing in all caps.

First, it's not a silly question because no question is silly.

But it's funny because it's not one I've heard that there have been LOTS!!! No, you don't have to write in all caps. In fact, all caps is harder to read so DON'T DO IT except where you are told! LOL

Thanks for your reply. I think my brain is just overloaded from this application. Trying to collect proof for a 5 1/2 year relationship, and then write about the details is a bit overwhelming.

The instruction manual says to print in capital letters -- but this applies only if you are printing by hand. I guess Canada thinks printing in upper-lower case can be more difficult to understand. But if you are typing, no need for all caps.

That's a relief since I wrote everything on a computer. Thanks for giving me peace of mind...

They ask for all caps because they want it easily readable. If you don't use all caps but still write clearly without anything being unclear, it should still be fine.
I filled out my applications by hand and didn't use all caps for the longer questions, it just seemed wrong. And that was obviously ok, I had no issues with my app.

to avoid this we had all the forms typed on-line and printed out

I completed my .PDF files all in CAPS on the computer and it went through just fine. With today's world full of drug smugglers, money launderers and terrorists I'm sure they have much more important things to worry about than the cases on application forms.
