Visa obtained but baby on the way before landing

Thanks for the advice, always nice to try here before I brave the bureaucratic machinery and try to get an official answer. Needless to say I will check in with Canadian immigration before we head out. We didn't know about the baby until after I had sent in the paperwork, and this is a confusing...

Visa obtained but baby on the way before landing

What to do? I just got my visa and plan on landing in Canada around July. By that time our baby will have been born, but outside Canada. they probably pour over the paperwork and ask you about any inconsistencies, for a start. they also probaby ask you about how you met, which side of the bed do you usuallly sleep on, whether you wear boxers or briefs, favourite food, etc. What's the problem? Refusing to answer any questions is...

Landing - sponsor must accompany person landing? Conflicting answers:(

the sponsor is a citizen of Canada but living overseas (with me). I wanted to go first, get a head start on job hunting, and find a flat; the sponsor (wife) would join me in about a month's time after she quits her job, and ties up loose ends, etc...that's our prefered plan anyway. The lady at...

Landing - sponsor must accompany person landing? Conflicting answers:(

We have been told on this forum and elsewhere that the sponsor (in this case spouse) must either be waiting in Canada or accompany the immigrant through the first point of entry. Yet today at the Canadian embassy, the lady at the window told me that this is not the case (ie I can go first and my...

    Landing issues

Hello, so we have the visa and supposedly we have until August 2010 to "land," as they call it. What happens if we don't have our flat sold by then, or other issues? Can we come back to our country of departure for however long we want after we land in order to tie up loose ends??

    Embasst called for additional info

A good idea would be to fax the form with all the required info, and just in case send it with a cover letter explaining that you are sending extra info that they requested. In the cover letter be sure to include ALL your personal info (name, address, phone, and case number).

    case refused need help

well, sorry to heart about this major snag in your case. I hope you get it figured out. As for how they found out about the marriage, the question of how isn't as important (although it certainly is interesting) as is the fact that the boys and girls at CIC sure do their homework. So if anyone...
