I have applied for a PCC in India and mentioned in the application my previous address too.
Address A - 6 years
Address B (current) - 4 years

But the certificate i got mentioned only my current address and only 3 years of stay.

Will this be insufficient for cic?
I stayed in the same city for the 10 years. Should the certificate mention both addresses and 10 years?

If the PCC explicitly mentions 3 years of stay, you'll be refused. You need the PCC to either not mention any duration or those previous 6 years as well. Get the PCC from passport authorities - that has no duration/address mentioned on it.

Where did you get this in India? From PSK or a local police station. It's strange when you say, the certificate mentions address.

First of all...If the PCC is not from PSK...suggest get one from PSK that is valid for the whole country and time period since 18 yrs of age.

Now PCC has nothing to do with 10 yrs unless your age is 28 yrs.

PCC Rule
One PCC is required for each country (irrespective of city of stay) you have stayed for more than 6 months since attaining 18 yrs. of age. And if it is your current country of residence, it shouldn't be more than 6 months old on the date of filing the PR application/AOR.

Hope that clears your doubt!

@CanadaweCome My question is the following -

My fiance already got her PCC in Dec 2015 and she currently resides in India. However, we are getting married around March ,2016 and only then I am going to declare as a dependent on my file. Now, I would like her to re-apply for a fresh PCC rather than having the doubt of whether CIC will create a hassle on submitting the initial one.

Now, would the PSK officials agree to re-issue a PCC?

Unlike Passport issuance, PSK here isn't concerned if you have been issued PCC in the recent past or 2yrs. ago.

If you apply, you'll get a PCC...its as simple as that. (Assumption: No criminal record in the past)

Oh ok..So they dont care if we already applied 2 months back and requesting a second one. Unless, we are clear of any criminal records.

You know the pain these officials create back home.. So, just intended to re-affirm.

Yes...Some organizations may need you to submit an original copy...and imagine you you need to submit at two places, then how will you get another PCC?

Also sometimes PCCs are issued in the name of the organization that requests for it, so if you need to submit another one for Australia or New Zealand(say)...

I have applied in police commisionerate office (passport cell) and verification is done by local police station.

Thanks for all the replies.
I'll reapply from PSK. Does anyone know the timelines in PSK Hyderabad for PCC?

If you do not have any Criminal record they issue on spot. My fiance got it from hyd (ameerpet).

If your PP has your current address and if a police verification was done (owing to a PP renewal) in the past year, you'll get the PCC on the same day! You would need to submit your original PP at PSK! Otherwise, takes between 10 to 15 days!

I believe you need only your PP to get PCC from PSK!

i got my spouse pcc from the local police station . it mention her current address ( my home address since we are married) and states just the issue date 26th dec 2015. also says its valid for 3 months from the date of issue. will that be sufficient or i also need to approach passport office for a pcc ??
my wife lived in 2 different cities though
