Hello,
As a PR, I traveled back to my country just few days after my first landing in Canada. However, I have safely received my PR card and hope to finally relocated to Canada by next year 2011 hopefully.
But my fear is this. Assuming the immigration officer want to know when I left Canada after my first landing, and how I got my PR Card while outside of Canada? What will my answer be?
Should I tell him/her the truth?
I landed, and left after a week due to some urgent unavoidable issues I had to attend to.
And my PR Card was posted to my friend's address, who in turn posted it to me in Spain.
Please kindly advice me what to answer if this question comes up.
Moreso, how long does it take to get a SIN number or Card?
Secondly, when I landed last year, the immigration officer did not stamp my list of items I hope to come along with when coming to Canada.
Instead he just gave me a form containing the contact of a shipping company that will handle it. And that I should contact them whenever I am ready. Is this normal? Please help.

1. The IO can tell when you left by the return stamp in your passport.
2. Truth usually works the best, as you can outside Canada for 2 years in any 5 year period, and it is not illegal to mail PR cards outside Canada.
3. You have to be in Canada to apply for a SIN
4. Yes that is the way some offices handle GTF lists.
