Hi everyone
I had one question if anyone is having the same situation please reply
I had submitted my OWP application along with the PR application on the same date that is sept 10 and it got received on sept 13
After I linked my OWP application to my gc key account
It showes that the application was received on Sept 6
What does this mean ?
Is there any error in the website or what?
Because If that’s the case there are some applicants whose application received date is between sept 10-13 who got their OWP approval already..?

Yeah there's some of us with similar situations. I mailed my application on September 7th, recieved at their processing center on September 9th.

On the phone and on my gckey it says OWP received September 4th and PR app recieved September 11th.
Still no news on my OWP

Bad news for me today , I called them , they said I can’t have OWP now cause my statut in Canada was expired the day I sent my application , i sent it before but they returned it (i forgot a signature ), the second time my statut was expired , I told them they said ‘it doesn’t matter’ so I won’t be working for a long time plus the 4 past months

Just got an update this morning, Medical Passed. Still no update on OWP

Application sent : October 4, 2018
Application received : October 9, 2018
AOR received : October 26, 2018
PR linked : October 26, 2018
OWP linked : October 29, 2018
MR Received: December 14, 2018
MR Done: December 17. 2018
MR Passed: December 28,2018
OWP: Waiting

I am so sorry to hear that. You can still apply for OWP by online later in the process after you got your AIP. However, by then, it takes another 2 months to get it approved and you'll be just a month or two away from getting your PR anyways.

BTW, CIC just updated their OWP processing times. Currently, as of Dec 23, they are working on Sep 4th applications with 102 days wait time.

For those who have their OWP application receipt dates listed a week before it should be, it is just how CIC works. I got the same issue and it is a very common concern for almost all the applicants since Jan 2018. Nothing to worry and you should consider the real delivery date if you are counting the days, not the fake date that CIC listed.

Guys, for those who applied under common law relationship, does your passport show "common law" or "single"?
I am from Brazil and I have to apply for a new passport, they ask for my marital status and I am common law here but never changed anything in my country so I don't know which option to pick. I would appreciate any help!!

I got a notification in my email to check my GCKey and I did. It shows the BGC has started on my father's file.

Most passports do not show the marital status of the holder. If Brazilian does, choose "common-law" unless Brazil is one of those countries that doesn't support "common-law" relationships. Also if you are getting married soon and changing your last name to your spouse's, you should wait and apply later.

Nothing to worry. Even though you sent your applications on Sep 4, you are considered as a September 17th applicant because your package took 13 days to get delivered. It means CIC goes by the receipt date, not by the submission date, and your OWP receipt date is by default when it was actually delivered with your PR application on Sep 17. So again, you are fine

I am anxious on how to get updates for my owp and pr app without calling my consultant everyday!

I didn't get a notification but when i logged in to GCKey there was a message with a letter.

They're requesting my father's finger prints from RCMP and his Police Certificate from birth country.

What if we cannot provide a police certificate? He hasn't been back to his home country for the past 16 years.

Would they accept a written explanation? Has anyone been in this situation wherw they were unable to provide the police certificate from birth country?

Link your OWP application to your existing cic account and check it yourself. If you dont have cic account then create one and link the application . Your consultant might have id password as they might have created already where they are checking from.
