I tried calling them for the first time yesterday to make sure they didn't file us as Inland. The agent said that she can tell since the package was sent to Ottawa that it is being handled as Outland because that's what CPC-O does is the Outland applications.. Also we wanted to find a way to change my wife's mailing address because she is here staying with me during the process but that seems hard to do after the fact etc.. Anyhow still no word here since SA and AOR but as the agent said our case is relatively new..

See a few posts above. I talked about my email to Ottawa to change my mailing address and I posted their response.

Hi,

My wife (Sponsor-Spouse visa) is a Canadian Permanent resident and an Indian Citizen, currently working and living in Canada. We got married one year ago and I am an Indian citizen living in India.

My wife submitted spouse sponsorship application package at Case Processing Centre, Mississauga, Canada. We are expecting acknowledgement (AOR and SA) from CPC, Mississauga soon. As per the information I got, the application package will be forwarded to the Canadian High Commission, New Delhi, India, where it will be processed. (current processing time 15 months)

My questions are:

Should my wife (Canada permanent resident- sponsor) live in Canada, until my visa is approved by Canada High Commission, New Delhi, India?

After obtaining AOR and SA from Case Processing Centre, Mississauga, Can she leave Canada and live with me in India for one year / until my visa is approved?

What is the maximum period a PR sponsor can live outside Canada without making any delay in spouse sponsorship? (After submitting a spouse visa application at Case Processing Centre, Mississauga, Canada and obtaining sponsorship approval)

Can we both go and live in Canada after my spouse visa is approved?

Will there be any delay in processing spouse visa if the sponsor (Canada permanent resident) is not living in Canada? (We can inform CIC about sponsor's address change)

Thanks & Regards,

You should post this in the Spouse Thread. There are more who frequent that one.

Just a question for which I would like to have your thoughts... I was just browsing through copies of my forms that I submitted for sponsorship and realized I made a mistake in one of the dates on IMM-5490 (question no 1 - date when u made the first contact with ur sponsor?) I put in 10-Dec-2014 and obviously it's a a future date given that I submitted the application in September 2014; we got SA in October and file has been transferred to London; given that it is a future date, will they realize it and just figure it out?(based on other dates...marriage, first time we met etc...) should I submit a revised/corrected IMM-5490 with a cover letter to CHC-London explaining that it was a typo? Would appreciate some suggestions!

My wife has not been given a UCI or anything yet, so I'm not sure how we can change her mailing address as in the space they want some type of official identifying number to choose from etc.

We got ppr request after only one week in process! !!!

Hi Everyone,

I've been posting in the Accra Ghana Thread since my wife's applications is being processed there.

I sent in my application on September 8 2014, it was received on September 10th 2014 and I got SA on October 27th 2014 and the letter said the application was transferred to Accra Ghana.

It's almost 2 months since my SA and I've heard nothing, is this normal? what's your experience? any applicants in Accra? It says 16 months but people have been getting PPR really quickly it seems.

Yes it is normal. Check the processing times for Accra Ghana on the CIC website.

if you are from a visa exempt country you only have to send in passport copies right? not the actual passport? for the passport request i mean
