Still no word since Sponsor Approval on 9/26. I was wondering since I am going to visit my husband in Canada and I have a visitor pass of some type after a whole episode at the border, it expires March 31. Should I contact Ottawa and give them the address in Canada to send any mail or would that mess everything up or even worse slow the process down?

Thank you :)

I actually just sent Ottawa an email asking for a mailing address change. Got a confirmation that they got my email but no response or change yet. I doubt a change in mailing address would cause any problems.

You could apply for a visitor extension online if you are worried you won't hear anything before March. I've heard most apply 30 days before the visa or visitor status expires.

Nothing after that. Not smooth at all.

I am sorry your process isn't going smooth. :( ... Mississauga is a mystery. Some run smooth, some have hiccups. I hope you are able to get your SA soon and move on to your Visa Office. Best of luck.

Hi guys, just wanted to update that we received this email (Stage 2 AOR?) from Tel Aviv VO last night. It's the first time I've (PA) been contacted personally since my partner received her SA on October 23rd.

My ecas status is still Application Received...

The email says their processing times are 9 months on average so I guess that means a whole lot more of this waiting game :(

"Date: December 12, 2014

UCI: **********
Application: ***********

Dear omrimon:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada which was received at this office on 11/17/2014.

We have created a file with the application number provided above. You must quote this application number in any future correspondence.

Processing time

Applications for permanent residence in Canada in the category that you have applied require on average 9 Months to process at this office. If you have not received any instructions from this office within 6 months from the date of this letter, you are requested to contact this office directly.

Interview

You will be notified of the appointment for your interview, if required, approximately 2 months prior to the date of the interview, and you will be provided with further instructions at that time.
Section 15 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act authorizes an officer to proceed with an examination where a person makes an application for permanent residence in Canada for the purpose of determining whether the person and all his or her accompanying family members, appear to be persons who may be granted entry into Canada. To proceed with an examination, a personal interview is frequently required. Section 16 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination. If an applicant appears for the interview without all the family members as required by the officer, then the required examination cannot be completed. This means that the applicant would be found to be inadmissible to Canada as a foreign national by virtue of the fact that he or she is unable to comply with all the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Regulations, following sections 11 and 41 of the Act.

Interpreters

Interpreters must be arranged in advance for any family members who will be interviewed and who are unable to communicate well in either of Canada's official languages of English or French. Instructions for the provision of interpreters will be provided to you prior to your interview appointment.

Non-resident applications

If you or any of your accompanying family members are not normally resident in the area of responsibility of this office, then you should be aware that there may be additional delay in the processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada. This delay will result from the need to refer your case to the Canadian Immigration office which is responsible for the country in which you or your family members normally reside. This referral is necessary to verify any information that you have provided with your application, for advice concerning qualifications or other matters of a local concern that should be taken into account when assessing your application.

Let us know

If your circumstances change you have to let us know (see address, fax number and email address below).
More particularly, we want to know about a:
· Change in family composition including new born, divorce, marriage etc;
· Change of address, including change of e-mail address;
· Change of immigration representative;
· Request for withdrawal of your application;

Prepare yourself for immigration to Canada

Your application has just been received at visa office and some months will probably pass before you know the final decision on your application. We nonetheless encourage you to use these months to gather information on Canada.

One of your first steps should be to begin researching potential employment in Canada. Most occupations in Canada are not regulated. For those occupations, the employer is responsible for assessing and recognizing your qualifications.

However, some occupations are regulated and do not permit persons to practice without a license. To obtain a license to practice a regulated occupation, you must go through an assessment and an acceptance of your education and professional qualifications by a regulatory body. This assessment will compare your training, education and experience to Canadian requirements. This assessment will also help determine whether further training and evaluation may be needed before you acquire a license to practice your occupation in Canada.

In partnership with Service Canada, the Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO) provides information and referrals. You can find more information on the FCRO Web site. Clients in Canada can call 1-888-854-1805 or the Service Canada general enquiries number at 1-800-O-Canada (1-800-622-6232) for more information. Clients in Canada can also obtain in-person service at Service Canada Centers.

The Going to Canada Internet site has important information about living and working in Canada as well as the “Working in Canada Tool” which will tell you what the current prospects are for your occupation across Canada. It offers information on essential skills, job descriptions, work conditions and opportunities. It will also tell you whether your occupation is a regulated profession in Canada.

We trust that this information is helpful.

Sincerely,

Citizenship and Immigration Canada

Sorry to hear, keep me posted.

CIC is so unpredictable, I received a call from the Mississauga office, they left me a message on my cell because according to them I was missing a document, I called them back and faxed the document so I saved the number. I thought it was nice of them to call me so I called them a couple of times for information but they only gave me my UCI number. I don't know if this is someone who is making sure the application is complete or is the officer approving the applications. I think I called too many times and they probably have caller ID because they are not answering my calls anymore but here is the number maybe they will pick up the phone if you call 905-803-1181. Good Luck
Im so frustrated with them, Im still waiting for SA, the letter was mailed the end of November and still nothing. I called the call centre twice but they all say the same, they cant see anything else other than the letter was mailed so I just have to wait, maybe Monday I block my number and call Mississauga.

I tried calling them for the first time yesterday to make sure they didn't file us as Inland. The agent said that she can tell since the package was sent to Ottawa that it is being handled as Outland because that's what CPC-O does is the Outland applications.. Also we wanted to find a way to change my wife's mailing address because she is here staying with me during the process but that seems hard to do after the fact etc.. Anyhow still no word here since SA and AOR but as the agent said our case is relatively new..
