Whoever the admin is should control the data in a more efficient way. There is more than one London applicant however this would mean each individual user would need to change column C in each of their respective rows, and some users will not be aware of this change, so if someone looked at the spreadsheet they could see some London users' column C's being multiple values which would confuse them.

As a developer and an admin of a very well thought out spreadsheet (the London spreadsheet) this spreadsheet is not very well designed. I am not even sure why that column is there, having a link to the CIC page where it lists the processing times would be better rather than having out of date data in the spreadsheet.

Just my 2 cents!

Wow dude your comment is so rude and unnecessary, especially if you knew the spreadsheet had been deleted by the original owner. Maria threw this one up with the quickness. God bless her.

The spreadsheet can be edited by anyone, including you.

Literally unbelievable. You always pick on Maria and I'm sick of watching you bully her for no reason.

Once again I will reiterate my point. Having a column which contains a value that is controlled by a third party makes no sense.

Having the same value in multiple rows is a maintenance issue, that is my point, nothing to do with who restored the spreadsheet.

I give props to Maria for spending her time restoring the spreadsheet, that is not up for debate. Not once did I "pick on" her. I am 30, not a child.

And when else have I picked on her? Please bear in mind this is a public forum and there is no need to be so aggressive.

Sure, since you asked - I watched you berate her for ordering her notes 2 months in, calling her impatient, etc.. and it ended so poorly you blocked her on FB.

If you have this much of an issue with *one* column in the template of the spreadsheet, you should go comment on the March 2015 Outland Thread and lambaste them instead because they're the ones who created it.

Dude, Maria did everyone a favour copying and pasting her screenshots and rewriting it all when it got spontaneously deleted. For you to waltz in and basically say, hey, you did a sh*t job, you need to do this X way, and then not understand how that can be seen as rude? Seriously. It is rude and I'm not the only who thought so, obviously.

Intent does not equal impact.

I am not sure why you are so aggressive. I have my own reasons why I removed her from my friends and a public forum is not really the place to air your dirty laundry. Have some class.

I made one comment about the column, you seem to have the impression it upsets me to the core, which is does not.

Whatever, I have better things to do with my time than argue with a troll.

Just delete the column if it bothers you so much. I really don't care. That column is not protected. It can be deleted. Or edited. Just go ahead and change it. Honestly, I don't care. I have better things to worry about right now like my own application. Like it was said already. All you did was say "my spreadsheet is superior" but using different words.

Do as you please with the Sept. Spread sheet. You seriously are going to sit here and say caps is shouting? Who cares? Who made that rule? For me caps emphasizes something, it is all a matter of perspective.

Ok then don't ask "And when else have I picked on her?" if you don't like the answer.

Maria I was only expressing my opinion and I did not mean any offence. I am sorry if I appeared rude, that was not my intention.

Like you I am also waiting for my application to be finalized and it is a stressful time.

Good luck with yours, I hope they find your FBI check.

I honestly would not have been offended if you just said "Hey do you mind if I make some edits on the sheet to make it more efficient?" I would have welcomed it with open arms. I hate Excel with a passion!

I have wished everyone in Sept. the best of luck and always will continue to. We are all suffering in one way or another. This wait is mentally exhausting.

Thank you Amalthea.

A lot gets lost in translation. While our intent may be one thing, the impact can be completely different. I was hoping your intentions were good and that you weren't actually trying to demoralize or make someone else feel bad, even though it came across that way.

I should have realized I have lost my optimism/faith in folks as of late and adjusted my reaction/bias to your intent accordingly, I am sorry for that. Regardless, I am still happy to be pleasantly surprised that you did in fact mean well. Thank you for clarifying through the harshness.

I was offended and I am also happy to see that Andrew didn't mean it in an offensive way. Maybe I would not have been offended if I had a better 2 weeks? lol... My life has been hell recently. Well, you all know how it is. Now add to that lost papers and my timeline being extended at least 4 more months.

Long story short - CIC is holding all our lives in limbo and we should take it out on them instead of ourselves haha :)

It was those little bits that made it seem a bit rude. Kinda snooty, a little condescending.... i read it and all i got was 'this spreadsheet is crappy and the admin really needs to do better. What is this column even doing here? *ugh* *rolls eyes* It's terrible! I should know since I'm a developer and the spreadsheet that I made is perfect.'

It's just how it was worded.

Hey andrew-brit,

Back on page 73 of this thread we found out the spreadsheet was deleted. I have never done a spreadsheet before and I asked Maria if she knows how, and if she could make one for us. I also went searching and found that the original deleted spreadsheet was done up or added by user JAMO1974, as can be seen way back on page 4. I shared that info with everyone as you will see on page 73, and Maria stepped up and mailed JAMO to see what's up with the spreadsheet. When it was discovered we had lost the old spreadsheet for good, Maria stepped up yet again and did her best and made us all a new one. Thank you again and much appreciation for all you did for us Maria 8)

May started out awesome. A new month a step closer, and we all were positive and hoping for good news for everyone.. Then the spreadsheet was deleted, and not long after that CIC contacts Maria to say her FBI clearance is not in her file and she needs to send a new one.. News like that not only kicks the aZZ of the person that receives it, but also makes it uneasy for others here too wondering what CIC will email you about etc etc.. That's how May started out, and that was just barely the first week of it so far..

We are all getting frazzled and anxious here at times.. I am so worried about my file that I can't sleep at times, and I actually feel sick here and there about all the unknowns and the anxiety of it all.. If I can feel that way I know others are feeling that way at times too, and I try and just be positive and hope for the best for all of us..

It would be very kind and much appreciated if you'd like to help us with our spreadsheet andrew-brit, but if not we will manage as the one Maria did for us works good too. Help is always appreciated, and there is no way I could have gotten this far in the process without all of you and this amazing resource of a forum.. Shalom 8)

Edit: A lot of the stress and anxiety people are feeling is helped by the fact that when we all filed back in Sept, it was thought that the process times for Ottawa would be around 4-6 months.. Now here we are at 8 months plus with some nearing 9 months now. Hopefully this will all be over soon!

Another Edit: You can see the enthusiasm and hope we all had for the month of May starting on page 72, then keep reading from 72-75 and you can see the full meal deal on the deleted spreadsheet etc.

No kidding.... I told my parents I'd probably be done with immigration in February, March at the latest. Boy, what a joke! Lol... I was even being optimistic with my CIC mishap... but still waiting!

Seriously. I was like oh, March at the latest! LMAO

Hope that Ottawa picks up again soon. The radio silence sucks. I'm ready to start seeing some September apps getting approved!
