DelhiGuy,
You will likely get through the 1st Stage approval and perhaps CIC will be fine with it. Or during In Process - Stage its depends on CaseWorker

ta2,

When can we expect the PPR email? Any idea? Another quick question. When we send our passport with return prepaid Canada post envelope, should we include the signature option or not? If I will be not at home when it comes what will happen?

Thank you in advance!
Based on this thread and spreadsheet I think 20 days after Medical is the average for CPP-O.

Up to you if you use the signature option. If you miss the delivery you can just get redelivered.

In Canada since October 2012. Landed as a PR on March 8th 2014.
Woohoo!!! Got my second line. They either added it yesterday, or today (or perhaps late Friday!), as I checked Friday morning and it wasn't there.

"We started processing your application on December 12, 2013."

So by looking at the trends, will hopefully get our MR's this week. I'm hoping anyway. We're going to be away mid-January for 2 weeks, so I'm hopeful we can get out medicals done before then. Will just have to call around all the approved physicians in our area and see who can do it asap. I do realize though that the holidays may slow things down.

If there's no one that can do it here before we go, is there anything stopping us doing medicals in Scotland (where we're going) while we're there? I believe as long as it's an approved physician, it doesn't matter... If that were the case, would that make anything slower? Just wondering if the physician needs to mail anything, that'd take longer and more chance of going missing. Or is it all done electronically? Obviously would rather do them here, but just thinking of backups.

Regarding passport requests, does everyone get them, or do they only select certain applications? Just hoping that stage doesn't fall between trips (we have a few early 2014!). If it's at a really awkward time, is there anything that can be done to speed it up? i.e. dropping them off at the visa office, picking them up, etc.?

Some hypothetical questions, but may as well ask!

Early Christmas present, wooooo!

Graham.

I haven't seen anything that would indicate that having your medical exam in another country is against the rules, however personally I would rather not "complicate" things. You should make sure that the physician you are seeing is on the "eMedical" system. If they are not, it would slow things down considerably.

In terms of passport request, this step does not exist if you are from a Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) country. You would simply get your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) and then go to the border. Other than this situation, I'm pretty sure you have to submit your passport and I don't think there's any way to speed up the process.

We now have 21 out of the 31 CPP-O people here being processed, it can't be long for the other 10 now. :)

Thanks!

So for the physician, I guess if I just ask them that when I call? Or anywhere to check if they are able to electronically file? Just in case they lie to me to get business, lol.

Ah, that sounds like good news for us on the passport request, if I understand you correctly. We're from the UK, with British passports. So does that mean that step will be missed out for us? I realise there are exceptions, like they might really want to check ours, or something, but I'm speaking generally. How do you know that anyway? Is it stated on CIC somewhere? Not doubting you - just interested is all.

If that's the case, what is the theoretical process for us given we're from the UK and have already paid the request for permanent residence fee (did it at application time).
Get medical requests.
Do medics and have them submitted.
Medical results received.
Anything else before copr issued?

Glad things are moving well for most of us. Surely the rest will be processing soon!

Thanks,

Graham
