just went to our consultant, he wants me to pay $980 for the fee. I thought $1100 for two of us. any one here paid the same amount for two persons?

This might be the RPRF fee which is $490 per adult. Did your consultant say that he received a request for you to pay the RPRF fee?

I don't think there's a discount. Haha :P

Looking at people's timelines I can't help but feel that I got the short end of the stick this time.

My application was received on Sep-17 and I still didn't get request for medicals, someone who applied on Sep-10 already has permanent residency and someone who applied on Sep-11 already got his passport requested.

How can 6-7 days difference create a gap of many months between our timelines? The answer is the PAFSO strike >:( >:( >:(
I guess the strike effect kicked in right before my application got looked over but after the Sep 10~11 applications, this is bad luck!

The worst is that I could have applied a week or 2 earlier, I could have used priority mail, but I would have never thought that a 6,7 day different on the application received date would result in several months delay in the end. :(

Dont feel so low, each application is different. There has been lot of movement of October and November applicants while none of the December applications have got MR. On the contrary the Jan onward applicants have got their MRs too. So don't think you were late by 6-7 days. I believe it has got to do with NOC codes too, what is your NOC code though?

Did you order your GCMS notes yet, that will give some insight?

I never requested GCMS as it doesn't make any difference in the application's processing time.

Regarding my NOC code, it is the same as the guy whose application was received on Jan-24 2013 and already "landed": https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ar9eXYaPoZa4dHhjRzdwb0FBTnFDbEQ0Z1BvelhXN2c#gid=0

Gcms though will help you see where your application is held up - if it has had to go for extra review etc. it's free if you're in Canada so there's no harm or loss in applying. If there is a problem with yr app, it will show
