OK. This is how it works. You sent your documents via Hellenic Post and they are still under their care until they are received and inducted into the Canadian postal stream. All scannable items are scanned automatically as they enter the mail stream here in Canada. Depending on the terms of the post office you purchased the service with not all domestically scannable items are scanned internationally. I know this is true of Deutsche Post.
If it is a trackable number it will be married to the tracking number issued through Canada Post (in most cases the tracking numbers do not change).
International mail can take up to 5 business days to be received so that would mean your package should have arrived around the 15th. Quebec/Ontario has had some bad weather so add a few days delay and that would bring you to about the 18th or 19th. Keep checking through Canada Post online and see if it pops up over the next few days.
Thanks for the kind reply CanadianJeepGuy
I checked on CP just a few minutes ago and still no sign of my parcel on the tracking system. I do have a track number Starts with 2 letters thens 9 numbers and 2 more leters at the end total 13 digits.
When I enter this number into the Hellenic Post site I get the confirmation up to the day it supposedly left Hellas (Greece) but nothing else comes from CP.
This drives me to hopelessness and I fear very much for the sound delivery of my parcel as it contains (you know better) months of preparations, and spent moneys!
This morning I went to Hellenic Post office and filled up a declaration so they may search and locate this parcel!
I hope soon to see something positive.

I will ask tomorrow at work what the standard Hellenic Post shipping time is and who the interim carrier is between Greece and us. I think it is FedEx but I could be wrong. There would be no scanning between it leaving Greece and arriving here in Canada. It's first induction should be Montreal and then Mississauga. I can even have it tracked internally if you want to mesage me the tracking number.

Any luck???

Hi there my friend. Thank you for the interest!

Yes the parcel finally arrived in Canada on 24/2/2013 and to CIC - Mississauga on the 26th
Still to this day I do not know why it took so long. I have been sending letters and parcels to and from Greece to Canada and USA for over 30 years. Normally they take one business week! This one took (for my luck :( ) 18 days
Anyway soon I hope I will get an AOR and maybe an SA
Have a nice day!

Yup I agree! But now I learned a valued lesson. When time is not your ally (like the most of us here) always send with the fastest method what ever could that be! Courier or something similar!
Take care and Good luck with your apps!

Errr! Sounds like headache!

Exactly! I don't know why I sent my application with priority mail that took almost 2 weeks from Finland.. They had a faster option too, but I don't know why I thought it doesn't matter!! Of course it matters!! :D The faster the better!

Hei godisFin

Helenic (Greek) Postal services are the only government section that is operating very efficiently despite the crisis here! The funny thing is that the parcel was surrendered by me on the 7/2/2013 at 12am to my local post office and on 8/2/2013 at around 7pm was loaded on a plane for Canada. No what happened from the 8th till the 24th I DO NO KNOW!
As I wrote here previously I know for fact that mail delivery from Greece to Canada or the USA would take roughly a week! in my case it took almost 3.
So much precious time was indeed wasted.
Well I shouldn't be crying over spilled milk!
See you in the February thread ;)

"Crying"?! I'd be "celebrating" that all o' them documents NOT LOST!

Well I am...I am but the fact remains that I lost 2 precious weeks. In my case every day counts. My spouse is pregnant, we both live in Europe and we want to have the baby in Canada! Otherwise its going to be a long time for us after birth here! We found out that she was pregnant 4 days after we sent the parcel! (And only 11 days after she passed a medical. Isn't this ironic)

This is my point!

Exactly. If my application took 4 weeks instead of 2 I would still be "crying" about it even though it got there and I would be celebrating. This is just subjective. Even if it didn't get lost on the way to CPC-M there is still the right to "complain". ;) :D
