Hello all,
It has been 2 weeks that I have sent my citizenship application and I just noticed that I forgot to include the transcript of my french language certificate. Is there a way to send the missing document before they start processing my application and probably return it because of the missing thing?

Thanks,

1. Not really, until you receive an AOR with the file number, if you send it now, it is unlikely to make it to the file.

Thanks for your reply. Generally speaking, is this considered as a reason to return the application? Or, they will just ask me to provide the missing document later during the process?

Did you attach the diploma? Because the requirements are diploma or transcript..

Hi

I think one should still send a copy, as the file is still in safe custody and maybe retrievable / locatable by the UCI number and other ID details. AOR is the status update, when they acknowledge they received a completed application file I believe, and the basis for IRPA compliance needs and many processing time calculations.

It happened to me. I missed a document. Instead of waiting for the application to be returned, I just sent another full set of application the following day. The first application was returned and I received AOR for the second application. I included a cover letter in the second document to inform them that I had send an earlier application.

I would have done the same...

Thanks for sharing your experience. Makes perfect sense.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I included the certificate but not the transcript.
You should be good no worries, requirement is certificate OR transcripts.

You attended or are currently attending a secondary or post-secondary education program in English or French, either in Canada or abroad, including:
  • A degree, diploma, certificate OR official transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program showing you studied in English or French, in Canada or abroad.

Thanks for your reply. What I sent with my application is my DELF B1 certificate; not sure if the above applies to it.

I think this requirement is for those who submit their educational credentials as a proof of English proficiency requirement and not for those who submit results of language exam like IELTS CELPIP etc to fulfill the requirement.

This is my assumption based on the wording.

I see, I will send a new application with a letter of explanation. With this covid 19 mess you could wait up to 6 or more months to receive your application back as imcomplete.
