I'm in the process of understanding the fees we have to pay for applying under self employed. in this page:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp?_ga=2.209809046.2001500624.1534321429-1272475050.1531653703

under the Permanent Residence> Business Immigration
it is written:

Processing fee ($1050) and right of permanent residence fee ($490) ----------------------------------------->1,540

can someone explain the right of permanent residence fee? why is it separated?
is it because we should pay it after the application is approved? or it should be paid at the first stages of application?

Thank you

Dear maxmode
you may pay it or not
if you pay it and they didn't grant you the PR it will be refunded
if you didn't pay it they will request it after your eligibility pass

No, i still haven't received AOR. Every day i'm checking every single folder of my mail, but there is no answer. It drives me crazy. I'm trying to find a way to contact the centralized intake office in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Hi I'm so sorry to hear this.

Try emailing them, they tend not to respond on time because of the number of applications they have to deal with daily but hopefully they will answer you. You could also double check to be sure you sent your application to the right address especially if you used the PO Box address. Check your own physical mailbox too to be sure your application was not returned due to documents/forms being incomplete.

I wish you the very best.

Email addresses:

CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca AND centralized-intake-office@cic.gc.ca

Just to keep you all updated - I have finally hired an immigration specialist who helped me a lot finishing and checking out my application.
I sent the application to Sydney yesterday - August 27th, should normally be received tomorrow (I am sending from Toronto, ON). Let's wait and see now, next months will be loooong... ;)

Dear all members, I have some queries regarding mode of payment and tax. please help me to find some way out of it..

Background Info:
I am freelance audio-visual content creator and applied under Self Employed Persons Category. According to regulation, I have fulfilled all requirement but in some area, there is some ambiguity which need to be cleared.

Paying Taxes
I have been working more than 5 years in my field, however, I started paying tax in 2018 and added the receipt in my file.
  1. Is it mandatory to pay taxes in order to be eligible under Self Employed Persons?

Annual Earning Requirement
We are three members in family. But I am the only one who is applying for PR
  1. How much annual earning is required in order to prove that you are self employed?
  2. If I am earning not enough for three person, can I consider my father's passive income as a support?

Payment by Cash
Payment entries of my projects are evident in my bank statement but not all payment done in Bank Transfer or cheque. Majority payment is done via Cash. If requirement arises of proving cash payment
  1. How to prove that I received payment in Cash?

My Tax Dilemma:
If I have not been paying taxes in previous years...
  1. will I be consider as person who is not earning sufficient, thus leading me to disqualification? OR
  2. will I be consider as a person who is not fulfilling the tax obligation?
These are my doubts. If you can clear out.. that will be great support.

Thanks!

Hello

Let me answer in the other that you have asked.

1. Annual Earning Requirement
According to CIC there is no annual earning requirement for this stream, no immigration conditions. You are expected to prove that you can at least create employment for 'yourself'. How much you make for your parents is not in question here. If you are married and applying with your family you need to have sufficient funds to support your family according to CIC's requirement (please check the website). But if you are coming alone then you must show funds to support yourself, about $12k or so but also check CIC website.

2. Payment by Cash
There is no specific requirement for this but you must prove your self-employed status by either including reference letters, invoices or contracts from your clients.

3. Tax Dilemma
In some countries new companies are exempt from taxes for the first 3 years, if this applies to your country you should be fine. If it does not then make an effort to pay the backlog wait till you are asked to send it in. Not earning sufficient is not mentioned anywhere as a basis for disqualification. You may not earn a lot in your home country but in Canada you could... so that shouldnt be your headache.

Relax and trust God for the best.

Hi, I run a business of Software training and software development in India. So, while creating EE profile, I ticked self-employed and chose the noc code as 8888- Entrepreneur. But it shows "profile ineligible".
What noc should i select?
Should i select "self-employed " option or not??

Unfortunately, I don't think you are eligible to this stream.
Please take a look at the eligible NOC here: http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/NOC/Occupations.aspx?val=5&ver=16
