Just doing some research into the application process and saw a notice regarding the applicant's family members also needing a security and medical check: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-how.asp

"If you are outside Canada: The people you sponsor must also tell us about each of their close family members. These family members must have a security and criminality check and a medical exam. If they do not, the sponsored person will not be able to sponsor them in the future."

So I presume my wife (who is the applicant) will need to have her parents and siblings do a medical and security check now and include as part of our application - if we later on decide to sponsor them to Canada? Is this correct?

Has anyone done this and what is the process? Which form do I include this information on? I presume the immigration authorities will issue the letter to them get the police certificates?

You need to go beyond that completely basic introduction page and read the actual guide.

For the purposes of Family Class Sponsorship, "family members" refers only to dependents (partner and children under 19) that are not already Canadian citizens/PRs.

Her parents and siblings ARE NOT included.
