Did you guys give consent to IRCC to release your name (s) to Elections Canada and the local MP when you signed your applications?

"Check the boxes if you authorize IRCC to provide your personal information to:

1. Your federal Member of Parliament (MP)
2. Elections Canada"

I'm wondering if that's 'a' prerequisite or trigger to receiving the oath invitation for July 1 or local civic or community centre ceremonies such as the one in Markham, ON (where the local MP will be present).

What do you think?

I don't think it matters at all... Some people checked that box and had their Oath taken already. Not really sure if there is any logic for July 1st invitations. It's probably random as everything else. They just fill up spots available with people that have positive decision made.

Just to clarify, I'm looking at the MPs presence aspect only (not Elections Canada).

You'd be surprised to know that there's even a May 2017 Scarborough applicant waiting for an Oath invite. So yes, there are others like you waiting.

Well I did check that box.I didn’t even get an Oath invite but I had text and called asking if they could count on me for my vote what a crock.
