Hmmm that is strange. I would email them, tell them why you are confused but also say that you are in the process of obtaining a new police certificate and will send it as soon as you receive it.

thank you for your advice.i will email them and also i have started the procedure to obtain a new police certificate with maiden name. Let's hope they will reply me :(

What documents do you mean? For example, you can get your SIN number right away (and without any problems as far as I know - even if you travel back to Italy). However, to qualify for OHIP, you must LIVE there for 3 months. So I wouldn't land, start the clock for OHIP, go back to Italy for an extended period of time, come back and then expect your OHIP to be covered.

You also need to wait to see if you CoRP has condition 51. That says you need to live with your spouse for 2 years after landing. You can travel for work and for personal reasons for short periods of time, but you can't LIVE in Italy. No one knows how condition 51 will be enforced though. So it may not be an issue. It depends on how much you will be going back and forth for, what the reasons are etc.

Ok I try to explain the situation shortly...I should get a transfer within my company but the position should be available on march..so I wouldn't leave my company before the position will be approved! That's my biggest issue! In the mean while I'm travelling back and forth like at least every 2 weeks (I work for an airline).

What is the OHIP?

OHIP is Ontario health insurance.

Well, if you did your medicals in April, you will probably have until then to "land". I'm not sure, but make a new post in the general family sponsorship forum so more senior members can respond. But maybe you can just come and go as a visitor until you are ready to land, then land and then you won't have to worry about condition 51 or anything else (getting ID, etc. even though you technically don't live here yet and possibly breaking any rules/laws).

I'm not sure, I think you should ask more senior members. Your Italian right? If so, they don't put a visa in your passport, they give you a sheet (CoRP) that you have to show at the airport. So if you don't show your CoRP, maybe you can just come as a visitor. I'm not sure, but it is worth asking I think,

Hi Flods,

You cannot "decide" to ask for Permanent Resident in Canada. You can request it if you are married or in a common-law relationship with a Canadian.

This particular group - Family Sponsorship, is for those who are coming to Canada to be with a spouse or family member.

What you are looking for is Work Visa. Usually you can get a 1 year work visa for Canada but that doesn't put you on the track for permanent residence. Like in Italy, it will take many years to get your permanent residence and then apply for citizenship and wait for your passport. Work visas are also more difficult to renew in Canada.

I recommend you go to the Federal Skilled Worker program to see if you qualify. You can also try the Albanian lottery system as they will do most of the paperwork for you.

Good luck!

Hi Belle1,
thank you very much for your advises. There are so many false information around and it's very difficult to understand how it really works. You have been very helpful to me.
Te falenderoj.
Have a nice day.
f.

Hi guys! This morning I checked my ECAS status and under the status of the permanent residence application status it says in process... :) and it says that they started processing my application on 17th sep. What does it exactly mean? As I understood it generally takes longer...

@ MarVan...Congratulations...Pretty fast!!! Keep the faith

@ Cls...I I sent them an email&no response at all. Anyway,I provided the requested document: police certificate in family name&maiden name . i ll send it tomorrow...lets hope now they will not ask me for more documents&they will sent my pass back as soon as possible. i m so stressed now,it seems like they are going to ask for other things :-\ no peace of mind :-X

I don't know how long Rome takes to respond but I would give them at least a couple days. It is good that you are able to get the police certificate so quickly.

Don't stress, they probably overlooked this one document - when we got our PPR it said they are in the final stages of review. So they probably did this last review, decided they need the police certificate but that is it. I don't think they will ask you for anything else. Stay positive!

Yes,i think the same bcs they mentioned it in ppr mail that they are doing the last review of the application.I ll stay calm now! At least i did everything the asked for,now it is all in their hands ;) so...are you preparing to leave? 8)

Slowly. We already moved out of our apartment in Berlin, so most of the big stuff is done. I need to grab a couple gifts for family members, arrange to ship a car and pack but pretty much most of it is done. I'm leaving in 2.5 weeks but my partner will follow 6 weeks later.
