My son and I became a permanent resident at year 2014, after landing I stayed but my son go back to home country and live with his mother, we divorced before my immigration so my ex wife isn’t a PR, my son is 8 year old now and attending elementary school there, I hope he can come to Canada and attend middle school here after he finish his elementary school.
During the past 5years, my son only visit me several times in his summer and winter vacations, he only spent few months here so his RO is not meet. His PR card expires soon so he cannot travel here directly this summer.
I know he can fly to nearby US airport and I can pick him up through one of land borders, but it’s troublesome to travel that way. Under this circumstances is there a good chance he can get PRTD and renew his PR card?
Or is that better renounce his PR now and apply for a visitor visa for the next few years ? Will that be a problem if I sponsor him apply for PR few years later ?
