Hi all, My application was returned because I didn't list my son as a dependent even though he isn't one, but anyways I fixed it and re-submitted. does anyone know if when you re-submit does it start all over again in the waiting pool or do they work on it as soon as they receive it again? what I mean is it took 30 days for them to work on it the 1st time, so do they put it back in the pile and you have to wait 30 more days for them to look at it again or do they pick it up immediately? thanks to those that reply

If the entire application was returned to you - then you start all over again.

hello i would like to know whatyour situation is with your son as a dependent as i might have a similar case and havent sent my application out yet thank you would appreciate it

My son is 20 almost 21 and he lives on his own with his girlfriend. in the US they are no longer your dependents after they graduate highschool unless they are in college or there is some other reason for them to be as in disabled etc. there are only 3 options for dependents on here and he didn't fall under any of those so I didn't list him, when they returned my application they said since he was under 22 so I had to list him.
I went ahead and listed him and then wrote an explanation that he does not live at home he is on his own with a full time job. so I would say if yours is under 22 to list them and then write an explanation. I haven't heard back from them to see if they accepted it yet.

Hi jen how did they know that u did not include ur son did you mentioned him in precious application or something

You have to list all your other family members on your application as well, father, mother, sisters etc. so thats how they knew since I did list him on there. I just didn't list him as a dependent because technically he isn't.
