I just received RQ :(

Is anyone else going through this right now? Does anyone have a checklist or spreadsheet they have used for gathering all the info?

What are some people's recent experiences around this situation? I am only finding older threads, so I wanted to start a new one.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you received RQ.
Is it RQ - CIT0171 or CIT0520 ?

Sorry to hear that you received RQ; I must confess I don't have any personal experience, I had a discussion with person who got RQ somewhere between 2012-15. Here are two important pointers:
  • If possible, get proof of actual rental payments if you ever rented a house during your period of residency
  • Utility bills can be retrieved from the providers if you don't have paper copies. Some may be available in the cloud, please kick start the process
Good luck!

After the test and interview....
So what are the document that you should send in the RQ form , did the agent informed you that you will receive such as documents ? How was the interview did you felt something when wrong , or just you got the surprise after !?

Any idea why? Did you travel a lot or spent substantial time abroad?
Bummer...sorry to hear!

Very sorry to hear that you got RQ. To my knowledge, some of the stuff you may consider to bring
a) credit card statement showing your purchase inside Canada (grocery, restaurant, gas etc)
b) your detailed travel history to USA (available at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home)
c) any air flight ticket boarding pass showing you had returned to Canada from international trips

Best luck!

sorry to hear this..can you tell what is the reason you think they issued you RQ? Have you really lived in canada in last 4 years ? what did they ask you in interview and what went wrong ? thanks

i wish you very best of luck...

i read some where on this forum before that if you think its really hard for you to defend you can withdraw application and apply later on again

order GCMS / ATIP notes also and see what concerns they have ?

I think withdrawing the application after receiving RQ would likely lead to another RQ upon re-applying ....they won't let it go

he can apply under new rules...not necessarily another RQ

i heard people did that before...circumstances changes with time....instead of waiting 3-4 years better to withdraw and apply again

Good to hear that!

Also is it still true that they process applications with RQ in 3-4 years? I thought that they had speeded up the RQ processing as well.

I guess so you are right...after 4 year rule RQs are processed faster
