I am signing my application on April 12, 2015 (became PR Dec 2008 and left Canada immediately after getting PR card and re-entered on August 27, 2011). So my period in residence calculator starts from April 12, 2011. I was out of Canada from April 12, 2011 and entered Canada on August 27, 2011. So I am wondering in residence calculator what shall I suggest? (August 27, 2011 should be included in calculation particularly since I was out for long time)?

1. Absence from April 12, 2011 to August 27, 2011 (137 days) OR
2. Absence from April 12, 2011 to August 26, 2011 (136 days)

Please Note in my List of addresses I am specifying as:
April 12, 2011 - August 26, 2011 ---- Address in My Home country
August 27, 2011 onwards My address in Canada.

Am I right in specifying it like this?

Please help ASAP.

You should use the online calculator provided by CIC. If you are using the online calculator - then you enter the date you left Canada and then the date you returned to Canada. The calculator does the rest.

Put Dec 2008, that's when your absence started, not April 2011. Calculator will calculate accurately. Do same for address history.

Thanks for the reply. But it clearly says put your record ONLY for past 4 years. Good thing is that whether I put Dec 2008 or April 12, 2011 it calculates as 137 days (keeping entry date as August 27, 2011 in both cases). If I put Dec 2008 I get following error in residence calculator

"An absence you have entered is partially or completely outside the relevant four-year period. Please check that the dates are correct."

So I think I am better to start off with April 12, 2011 as this is consistent with question history in the last four years.

My case is almost similar to yours. You are right, the online res calc will take the last 4 years only in account. Start with April 12, 2011 and mention till Aug 27, 2011 as out of country.
That's how I did for my Citizenship application.
