Just to give an update to everyone:

I called the number mentioned here, from overseas, this is what the customer service representative said:

Me: Hey! Im calling to find out the status of PR cards.

CSR: Hello Sir! I wish I could help you on this, but, we do not have any idea when an applicant receives the PR cards. I can tell you the processing time and as of today it is 52days.

Me: Thank you, the thing is I received my sons PR card and there has been a request of photographs for me and my spouse. And its already been a week that the photos have been received by CIC for the PR cards.

CSR: Sir, We cannot give you any information or time or date when you will receive your PR cards. What we do know is that, if your photos have been received, Im so sure that they must not have even opened them, as there are many more applicants before you. Please wait for the regular processing time.

Me: Thank You!

CSR: Have a good day!

So, the point is that once you have received a photo request you need to send them and wait all over again the 48 or 52 days of processing times.

Anyone who has moved out of Canada, can easily avail the travel permit from the Canadian Embassy.

My updated timeline:

Landed: March 18
Husband's PR card arrived: May 6
Photo Request for myself: May 24
Photos's received by CIC: May 27

I'm guessing I'll get my PR card in July sometime. Looking forward to it all being over!

We landed on 27th feb, I received my card on 22nd of April. And my husband received the request to resubmit photographs on 21st April.
Photographs reached on 22nd April... Still waiting for the card.

PR CARD: ??????????????????????????????????????

I called them today, requesting any information on status of the application. The call centre agent told me that there is no update at all, and it may be because a huge volume of requests for new photos were sent out, and they have no idea how long it would take, which I take it as the current processing time does not apply to us.

I finally got my PR card on May 23rd (55 days after photos re-submission).

Landed Jan 22nd at Toronto Pearson with spouse.

Received request for photos re-submission by post on March 8th - photos received by CIC on March 29th from abroad.

My spouse received her PR card on March 8th without photos request.

I took photos from outside Canada with a non-Canadian photo studio address. As long as the pictures are compliant, then there is no issue.

Congratulations! Could you please let me know which address you sent the pictures to? I mailed my family's via FedEx to the one specified in the email:

But, IRCC claims they have no record in their system. I need to resubmit.

Just want to know if the above address is where you sent yours, too?

Hello everyone!

I applied under the FSW and landed in February of 2016. Below are my pertinent details:

Landed: February 23, 2016

Received request for photos: April 12, 2016

Photos RECEIVED in Sydney, NS at their P.O. box address: May 02, 2016 (pics taken at studio in Oakland, CA and sent by Express priority mail)

I called the CIC customer service center twice. I called on the 1st of June and the rep was polite but refused to even check anything.

Then I called again on the 3rd and this rep said that "there is no set processing time when a photo request goes out. Not even an estimate", which is truly incredible. Then when I then asked "so it could take any amount of time? like 1 year? 2 years?", she said yes, and I'm paraphrasing, that there is a processing time established if no photo request is made, but if a photo request is made then all bets are off and that it could take any amount of time. This is quite unbelievable and shocking that there is no accountability whatsoever in such a circumstance!
