Just a quick side note too:I don’t know what situation your family is in or what country you’re from, but a piece of advice I’d give is unless you are certain that your dads life will be in imminent danger if he were to leave Canada, I would not apply for asylum.
The PRRA stream has no hearing and an acceptance rate of less than 5%.
That said, it is 5% due to many false or fraudulent asylum cases, so as I said, if your dad has a really strong case on his side he might win, but if he doesn’t then he has no other option and will be deported and barred from entering Canada for a few years. I would really really suggest contacting a lawyer and not relying on anybody’s advice from here, including mine, as none of us are lawyers.
You can ask people here for advice, but don’t take it to heart and don’t take it as a final word, too many people love to roleplay as immigration officers and/or lawyers on here, and believe that what they are saying is the truth and the only truth.
