you will have to seek help from your supervisor.
get the list of duties signed by him on the letterhead of the company. Give supervisor's contact no.
you will be through.

It's not easy to get the letter head of the company....would affidavit by supervisor work?

I am also working in bank for last 6 years in one bank and prior to that for 2.5 yrs in another bank.My duties somewhat match with financial manager code:0111 but the degree asked is bachelor's in commerce,management,economics or related field whereas I am a civil engineer.I have total of 16 yrs of experience with 7.5 yrs in construction field.
so what should I do ?should I apply as civil engineer or apply in financial manager category.

Do I need to get my ex boss to counter sign on it or get it notarized? What if I couldn't find anyone from my previous company?

My 2nd working experienced was only for 3 months under agency deployed to a client along the way I got some opportunity going overseas. Two weeks ago I went back home to get my previous employers to sign my Employment Reference Letter. Unfortunately, the agency that I have been for 3months was already shut down in 2007 I only got my Certification of Employment from them.

Please advise me

Beware of sending any experience letters without job descriptions. Get in contact with some senior at your previous employer(s) and request them to write a reference letter for you containing your job duties on the company letterhead or a stamp paper.

Please do not try to write an affidavit for yourself. It wont be accepted. It must come from a responsible senior at your previous employer.

I disagree, self affidavit is good as long as you can prove to them by submitting supporting documents to prove your claim there are cases like company shutdown, policy of the company not to disclose job description to third party individual. So self affidavit is ok but this will be your last resort

I am so worried about my past 3companies, would you please advise me & ease my anxiety.

1. 2012-present no issue I can provide the required work reference + any other supporting documents
2. 2008-2012 no issue as well I can provide the required work reference + any other supporting documents
3. 2007-2008 I can provide both required work reference + other supporting documents
~but problem is the company was liquidated. I can get live status from ACRA as a proof but do I really need to disclose this to CIC with notarized self declaration / affidavit?
4. Oct-Dec 2006 3months-I am under agency deployed to a client, I took the job temporary while waiting for oversea opportunity. I went back home to get a detailed work reference letter signed but unfortunately that company was nowhere to be found as it was already shutdown in 2007. I only got a standard work reference letter which only shows my job title & tenure. Do I need to get notarized self declaration / affidavit for this?
5. 2004-Aug 2006 I managed to get my ex boss to signed the detailed work reference letter in the company letterhead & I indicated my boss hand phone number on it. The issue was the said company was already closed down in 2007/2008, do you think CIC will need to call the company & do the verification even though it's 10years back? Do I need to disclosed to CIC that the company has already closed down? On my affidavit do I need to get my ex boss to sign it?

Hi Mr Hope,

i'm applying under 2132, done with all other docs except the reference letter. I'm working in the CAE field, specifically speaking in CFD computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, my job is to analyse different comonents and systems and help them become more efficient and safe. The USP of my job is hands on experience on CFD softwares like fluent, starccm+. I cannot get things like costing, instillation, material planning etc which form the bulk of the job duties. So, the bottom line is I can get around 40% of the job duties in my letter. Would it work..? Moreover I can explain the significance of the jobs a little bit.....Also would it help to have a big brand employer giving the letter, cos the company where I work has a brand that is omnipresent in North America and it would be a impossibility that the CIC people would not know about the company..!!
