Hi All.
I understand that, under the new OINP rules for the TEER 0–3 pathway, there are three ways to meet the qualifying work experience requirement.
I have been working as a purchasing coordinator for almost two years now. To better align my current role with NOC 12102, I asked my employer to revise my job duties, and they have agreed to do so. My current duties appear to align more closely with NOC 14403 than with NOC 12102, which is why I requested the changes.
However, my employer indicated that they may need to formally promote me in order to assign the revised duties. If my role is changed through a promotion, would I then need to accumulate a new six consecutive months of work experience in the promoted role with the same job offer employer before meeting the OINP requirement?
If that is the case, would it be more advisable for my employer to keep my current job title and position, while simply updating my job duties to better reflect NOC 12102, rather than processing a formal promotion?
Appreciate your feedback.
