If previous employer is not giving reference letter then Will it not work if job descriptions are mentioned in offer/appointment letter?

Dear,

thanks for your reply. Problem is that job descriptions are not mentioned in appointment letters although my Designation and Department is mentioned. I have again requested previous banks but they are not issuing such reference letters. They are of the view that they have already issued experience letters to me and its not policy to issue reference letters.

What should i do in this case. all other documents are ready in my case and i am stuck due to this issue. One of my friend has advised me to submit declaration containing JDS and official contact details of my previous supervisors including email.

One of my friend has advised me to submit declaration mentioning the reason that employers are not issuing reference letters as per required format. Furthermore, affidavit should also contain JDS and official contact details(Official Email IDs, Official contact nos and address) of my previous supervisors for verification by CIC.

Any comments on this option by senior members.

Regards

ask your HR/supervisor to send in the reason in email/letter format. attach this document.
Mentioning ROLES is mandatory.
good luck !

Hi Seniors,

need help on the service letter part. I'm going to apply under 2132 and can identify only couple of titles(fluid mechanics engineer & thermal engineer), from the list of 30-40 titles, for me. Is it fine??....Also from the job duties mentioned I can only get 'design and development of components' in my certificate, which is one of the job duties mentioned in the list of around 10 other duties like costing and planning and purchasing which I don't do....will this affect the application of is it fine to have only a few duties, mentioned in the list, at your disposal..?

Dear all

I am in the midst of processing my employment reference letters and I have some concerns hoping can anyone in this group can provide me with some helpful advise...I badly need this urgently

1. My 1st employer was in 2004-2006 the company was sold I think 4-5years ago, I can print the reference letter in company letter head with the help of my ex boss before. The letter head shows the company's contact number & fax I doubt it can be contacted however the letter indicated my ex boss personal hand phone. I am so worried CIC will call the company number if they require further info. What do you think?

2. Is it necessary to put a date on the reference letter? If yes, given the above situation can I back dated the work reference letter?

3. Is it a must to put the NOC number in each reference letter?

4. My second job was very very short it's only for 3months as I am leaving my homeland soon and under agency. I don't have the pay slip nor my contract with me but I do have a certification of employment hence it doesn't show the total working hours, benefits, detailed duties & responsibilities. Can I just submit my employment certification? Or can I just ignore it as the 3months makes no diff with the points I will got h

5. My third company was liquidated last 2years ago but same thing with my 1st company I can get my ex boss to print & sign the reference letter in company's letter head. Can I just provide my ex boss' mobile number?

6. My current employer is okay except that my direct reporting manager was the Finance Director but she left the company. For 3-4months I am reporting directly to the CEO then we hired new Finance Manager. Usually our CEO/MD signed the reference letter and put the HR in charge as the contact person. In this scenario who shall I get to sign my letter? Actually my CEO has left the company last year and he is willing to sign the letter for me. Any insight please?

Appreciate you inputs & advice ☺️

Thanks & good luck to all!

Should third party declaration by colleague/supervisor for experience letter be accepted by CIC..as my company do not provide the experience letter with Job responsibilities?

At most, i would be able to get the experience letter from my company mentioning my current role and since how long I have been working with this company.

Hello shaarav

It not necessary that your designation be exactly as one in the list. More important are your duties. "Design and development" is a wide based field. Expand it in words because just writing "design and development of components" wont help your care. So my advice is to elaborate it more.

it wouldn't matter if the company is closed. make sure, you give the right information and references.
2. Is it necessary to put a date on the reference letter? If yes, given the above situation can I back dated the work reference letter?
Its better to give the exact date, when you get it signed.
3. Is it a must to put the NOC number in each reference letter?
its not necessary, only on the forms you have to mention it.
4. My second job was very very short it's only for 3months as I am leaving my homeland soon and under agency. as its not your present job, just submit the letters you have, just to mention your employment record.
5. My third company was liquidated last 2years ago but same thing with my 1st company I can get my ex boss to print & sign the reference letter in company's letter head. Can I just provide my ex boss' mobile number?
provide his full details, mobile, email and his designation.
6. My current employer is okay except that my direct reporting manager was the Finance Director but she left the company. you can get it signed with anyone who'll give your information accurately, I think its better to give someone who's in the company at the moment.
I may not be 100 % sure, seniors please correct if I am wrong any where.
good luck !!!

Thanks & good luck to all!

we cannot predict anything, until CIC releases an initial update on the CAP.

good luck !

One of my very close friends has 8 years banking experience from India. He submitted the job duties of only his present position. It worked for him well. He is in Canada right now.

you will have to seek help from your supervisor.
get the list of duties signed by him on the letterhead of the company. Give supervisor's contact no.
you will be through.
all the best.

Hi Mr Hope,

i'm applying under 2132, done with all other docs except the reference letter. I'm working in the CAE field, specifically speaking in CFD computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, my job is to analyse different comonents and systems and help them become more efficient and safe. The USP of my job is hands on experience on CFD softwares like fluent, starccm+. I cannot get things like costing, instillation, material planning etc which form the bulk of the job duties. So, the bottom line is I can get around 40% of the job duties in my letter. Would it work..? Moreover I can explain the significance of the jobs a little bit.....Also would it help to have a big brand employer giving the letter, cos the company where I work has a brand that is omnipresent in North America and it would be a impossibility that the CIC people would not know about the company..!!

Pls Help,

Thanks.

as you're in CAE field, you can apply under the designation of design engineer, check with the roles of CIC for it. your roles should match at least 60-70% and i am sure you'll satisfy most of them.
even though, you have wok experience from a reputed company, it all comes down to job duties first. anyone has to qualify with the roles they perform in the company.

good luck !

Thanks again! Btw, do you know if there's a standard bond paper need to use for employment reference letter? A4 or letter size?
