Hi,

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the work permit in the mail ?

6 days to Toronto for me.

Hi how did you pay the amount after you have submitted the application ? Did they said the procedure to pay it ? Did u do it online ?

I applied on Feb 20th around 10PM, CIC updated myCIC with a notice to request open work permit holder fee ($100) on Apr 23rd (the 62th day) , not sure why I need this as the new policy was started on Feb 21st Paid and submitted the receipt on 24th.

I am still waiting for result, sent 'Case specific enquiries form' on 27th, no reply so far. Anybody has the similar situation ? Any suggestions ?

They updated my CIC account and attached a notice in PDF, just follow all the procedures in the notice, pay fees on CIC website and upload your receipt into your CIC account. You must finish everything in 7 days after receiving the notice, otherwise they will make the decision.

Rang again ...refuses to do anything as the date they are processing is February 13th so he wont send a reminder. Will ring again later and hopefully get someone else ...so sick of this

Thanks for your update. I applied on Feb 20th, still nothing so far. No reply after sending 'Case specific enquiries form' on Apr 27th.... Please let me know if you could get something from call agent. Good luck with everyone's application.

I had applied on Feb 27 and my BOWP application was approved yesterday(Apr 28th). The CIC call center people confirmed that my application was approved. It took around 60 days.
It started reflecting under my MY CIC account today only(April 28).

As per CIC call center, the status(on My CIC Account) changes only after mailing out the physical copy of the WP.

Great news Ganges ...I rang again and all she said is that it is in progress i dont know does that mean its just open as on mycic or its actually been worked on. I asked her if she could send a reminder email and she ask her supervisor who said no as I have to wait until the date goes past the date on the website. Very frustrating but nothing i can do.

Hey Hegarty,

'In Progress' is good news. It probably means that CIC is working on your application. I was told yesterday that my application is 'In Progress'. I would suggest to wait till tomorrow morning. Call tomorrow morning(after 8am) and I hope they will give you the good news.

was yesterday the first time u rang them ?

No, I have called them many times. Not less than 10-15 times during the last 2 months.

Earlier CIC call center used to say that CIC has not started working on it. But yesterday for the first time, they mentioned that my application is in progress. And Today morning when I called, they said that it approved as of yesterday. And it got updated on my CIC account around 3pm EST.

Folks, I am not sure if all of you will remember this of not - wasn't the expected processing time for WPs (online) advised on CIC site as 42 days in mid February and even until mid March? Then all of a sudden it went to over 60?

yes, that is correct. It has been over 55-60 days for more than a month now.
