Hi everyone,

I completed my co-op placement from May to December 30, 2024. However, I just noticed recently that I continued receiving payments until January 30, 2025. I wasn't closely monitoring my bank account, so I didn’t realize it at the time.

My actual last working day was December 30, 2024, and I started my study term on January 6, 2025. I did not work after December 30.

I’m planning to apply for my PGWP in a few days. Will this be a problem for my application? What should I do?

Thank you for your help!

No issue there is often a delay between work periods and pay periods. You also may have received a payout for any unused holiday time. You can always attach a note to explain.

Thanks for the reply!

I emailed the company to double-check, and they said it looks like they had my records incorrectly in their system. They had my last working day as January 30 and were paying me salary as if I was working 40 hours per week, even though my actual last working day was December 30. However, they said it will take some time to fix it on their side.

Would this have any impact on my PGWP application? I’m worried because I only have a few days left to apply for my PGWP.

Should I explain this situation in my PGWP application when I apply?
