This PCC has been bone of contention as lots of confusion has prevailed among applicants.

Now as per your thread, PCC is required by PIO which means another big task for applicants, especially who are in the final phase of submission.
Also the forms have changed..!!

Very crucial pointer....
Thanks
Dear Rana,
Which forms have been changed recently?
Thanks in advance.

Document checklists both for CIO & VO have been changed....(Minor changes took place)
Check other forms as well to see whether they have been changed or not.

Thanks Hasib.
But will it effect the people like us who already submitted their application?
Do we need to resend the changed forms?
You know anything? Kindly share.
Thank you so much again for your response.

Hello there,

It will have no effect on the applications already received. It's for the future applications. Nothing much we can do but wait ??? ??? ???

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hello rubybn,

Irrespective of where you live, you will have to submit your applications to the CIO in Nova Scotia, if you are applying under FSW.

You are not required to notify them about your expected baby now. You may do so when they ask for updates, or medicals or whenever you receive a file number from them. Alternatively you can enclose a letter explaining that you are expecting a baby :) with your CIO application.

Reference letters are one of the mandatory documents. If it's absolutely not possible to get them, please send them an explanation letter explaining the reason for it, and include other employment proofs such as employment contracts, payslips, letters of communication from the employer etc.,

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Dear Dr. Hasib and friends
Do you know when did this change take place? I thought it was not there until mid November but the form says 10/2010 version. If you know when this document check list changed could you write the date when it changed?
Thanks

It has happened in last 2 weeks for sure. My application was received on 3rd Nov. and by that time, old applications were applicable.
So story got changed in the last 15 days as I estimate.

Hello dear senior friends; Anil, Indira, Dr.Hasib and everyone else

I have some Q's and will be thankful to anyone who could explain what I should do

1) Do we have to sign and date all the pages of the forms or is that just enough to sign and date where we have boxes for signature and date.

One confusing matter is that on the CIO check list you can see clearly that the Application For Permanent Residence(IMM 0008 GENERIC) needs to be completed, and it doesn't say that we should sign and date it, whereas the Schedule 1 or or theAdditional Family Info ( IMM 5604) are emphasized to be signed. On the other hand My Vo says that we have to sign and date the 0008 Generic.

Now, don't you think it's better to sign and date the whole pages? What have you friends done?

2) Given that the forms(Generic, Shedule 1, Schedule 3 and...) are requested by both CIO and VO, Shall we include one copy in the CIO bundle and one in the VO set, or is it enough to send the forms only once?

I am really confused about these and as I have requested the courier to send me back the package so that I could correct some mistakes, I feel really obsessive with any point. I want to send it all flawless if I am lucky enough to get back my package which is apparently on its way back home.

Would you kindly help?

Applicants who are going to apply now:

-Please note that PCC(police clearance certificate) is required by CIO; PCC is must not be issued more than 3 months ago

- If you pay by bank draft/certified cheque then it must not be issued 30 days before you send your application to the CIO; if you pay by credit card then please ensure that your credit card will be valid for at least nine months from your submission date

- Download all forms again as some forms have few changes

Regards,
Dr.Hasib

Hi,

Thanks for this. Does this apply to all VO or some? I ask because I just re-downloaded and Checked both the CIO and my VO (London) Checklist again and I couldn't see PCC on the list of documents for the Federal Skilled Worker category or am I missing something? Please provide a link if don't mind please. I am just about to send my application and I want to be sure I have not missed anything out

Thanks

Just an update on the PCC, here is an extract from the latest instruction booklet for London VO

POLICE CERTIFICATES AND CLEARANCES

If your application is received at the CIO on or after June 26, 2010, you are strongly encouraged to submit your police certificates with your application to the CIO. If you are unable to obtain all the necessary police certificates, you may still send your application to the CIO without them. However, please note that if your application is placed into processing you must be ready to submit them to the visa office when requested.

The problem is I've lived in 3 different countries since I was 18 and it would be some time before I can gather the PCC from the 3 countries. I am only waiting on one more letter and off I go then to post my application package before they change their minds again :)

Dear Katy,
1.Applicans usually need to sign and date where there are boxes for signature and date. Since your VO specially indicated to sign(IMM 0008 GENERIC), you must sign it as well otherwise your application will be incomplete and will be returned to you.
2. Only 1 set is required. CIO will send your application to VO on behalf of you.

Dr.Hasib
