I remember you well as ........EnvioZA as we exchanged many views earlier.

Well, I need PCC from 3 countries including India. For 2, its a matter of not more than 2 weeks but just 1 that's gonna take longer as told by it's embassy....my main worry.

I guess I am gonna apply for PCC only for this country (in advance) as soon as my status changes to RBVO.
Someone even suggested to apply and submit PCC even before VO asking for it but no further viewpoint on this suggestion by anyone else.........what do you say?

By the way, whats your status now? Is your VO Tokyo? I hope things are getting normal and you have been safe during recent nuclear crisis.

I am rather "confused" on PCCs.

Here's my case:
July 2010: Obtained PCC
Aug 2010: Submitted complete application to CIO, as per their requirements at that time, which was to give a photocopy of VO Checklist documents [so PCC photocopy was attached]

Note: CIC's requirement for PCC at my point of application was:
(1) PCC date must be within 3 months of appication date. Clearly mine was within this period
(2) Valid for 12 months. So it should be valid up to June [OK mid July to be exact] 2011

Dec 2010: Received PER e-mail
5 April 2011: Received letter asking for Medical AND PCCs.

My action:
(1) I e-mailed KL VO on Sunday explaining above points and seek clarification if they want those from July 2010 or a new/fresh PCC.
(2) As of this moment, still no reply from KL VO
(3) Decided to go ahead to apply for PCC even with the additional cost & time

Members, please clarify/comment why is VO asking for PCCs that are STILL VALID??? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes I am the same person. I used EnvioZA as nick is this forum. I also enjoyed exchanging views with you.
Well, It's difficult to say when you can to apply for PCC. But if you are going to obtain it by embassy ,I guess you should apply as early as possible ( It can RBVO stage). If you realize that your obtained PCC will be expire then submit it to VO ( along all other PCCs) saying you did not submit it earliar. But I am not sure how the people in VO will take it.
Another way is that, you can always give an explanatory note saying that it was difficult for you to maintain 3 months time limit if the PCC is over three montsh old. Two logic you can give 1) Because you received it through embassy, where they can't gaurantee teh timescalefor obtaining PCC 2) You haven't visited that country after you received PCC. I guess it will work fine. But I am no expert, may be seniors have better opinion. In my case I am planning to provide a covering letter explaining the condition. I just hope they accept.

Tokyo VO started to process my application on 29th March.

So in my understanding, VO feels that your PCC was submitted in June 2010 and in the meanwhile, you might have re-visited these countries while PCC must not be over 3 months old from the date of asking and that's why it could be asking for it again.

I feel if you can make it clear/prove to VO that you never visited those countries again after PCC submission in Aug. 2010, your VO might not ask for new a PCC.

Rest, Can you tell me that:
- How much time you've been given by your VO to submit PCC and medicals? 45 days, 60 days?
- Regarding medicals, any process details & list of recommended doctors in your country in VO letter?
- Would you select and inform VO about the Doctor before Medical is done & who will submit MR to VO? Directly by the Doctor or Applicant?
- Is there anything else that your VO has asked for?

Hi Rana,

Thanks for your detailed reply. My answer to your questions are as follows:

(1) VO gave 60 days from date on letter
(2) Medical letter will have instruction and a list of DMPs for you to choose from.
(3) I intend to e-mail VO after I have done medical, for their information. VO did not ask for this. Medical instruction also tells DMP the exact address/office to send the medicals. In my case, Singapore VO; they have a regional medical officer for this purpose.
(4) No. Just medicals & PCC

I've mad made mind to go for PCC as soon as my status changes to RBVO, before VO asks for it to mitigate any looming risk of missing the submission deadline.

This tough looking journey becomes interesting and handy with support and suggestions we render each other....another true way of how HUMANS should live...helping ourselves by helping others.

My VO is Singapore and as I checked my e-cas status, it's still "Application Received".
Since I got my PER just 2 days ago, I guess my status would be changed/updated soon at CIC website.

Rest regarding applying for PCC, I guess I'd do it in between RBVO & 2nd AOR...say a week after RBVO.

Also one person suggested me that to remove this risk, I better apply & SUBMIT my PCC and as soon as my status changes to RBVO, BEFORE it's asked by VO---> What do you say regarding this way?

- And how does this medical call made? Is it also by ordinary post or e-mail?

by the way, as my visa office is Singapore likewise yours, i believe following information will be of great help:

    1. File transfer period from CIO to Singapore VO = 20-24 days. So your ecas status will changed from CIO Eligibility review complete to Received by visa office(RBVO) after 20-24 days from PER receiving date
     2.Time required for getting 2nd AOR by ordinary post from VO = 10-20 days
     3. Ecas Status changed from RBVO to IN process after 20-25 days from the date of your application received by VO
     4. Medical request (MR) + PCC+ RPRF will come by registered post: accoriding to my research applicants whos processing commenced in March 2011, got their MR+PCC+RPRF  withing 4-20 days from the date of processing commencement

I don't know why but I feel that visa processing process should become faster before next/new set of NOC codes will be issued in June 2011.

Looking at the time line you've mentioned, it seems that Singapore VO is really slow and it's unclear even to CIO for post June 2010 applications. Look at the following message posted over CIC website for us:

"Processing times for applications received on or after June 26, 2010 are unavailable as sufficient final decision data does not exist."

Rest, I heard that none of post June 2010 applicants got the visa until now.
Is that true? What could be the reason?

I e-mailed to KL VO explaining my case but NO reply. So I've taken the trouble to reapply. Just get it and close the case!!
