RCMP police clearance? Now what...

I haven't found much information on this anywhere, even the site says 'Only in some cases.' I'm pulling together the police records for my app as an outland sponsored spouse, and it just occurred to me I've spent more than 6 months (in broken periods) in Canada, so I need their clearance also...unfortunately that apparently takes forever, which means by the time I get it, my FBI clearance will be no good! I'd rather be able to submit everything all at once, so should I just wait for the RCMP one to come back and get a clearance from the FBI? Or should I just send off everything now? I'm terrified that an incomplete app will stall me past the year and I'll need to redo my medicals and such. ???

I know with sponsored spouse PR apps, they ask for police certificates for every country you have lived for longer than 6 months except Canada

CIC has it's own contacts with the RCMP, so no need to get a Canadian police certificate. (This is the answer I got from CIC, when I called for the same question.)

Does the SPONSOR require a police check from another country they lived for more than 6 months?

Awesome!!! I was so worried I’d end up with all my police certs not matching up in time. I’ve spent at least 8 or 9 months in Canada, but in broken up periods of a couple months here and there, and always in the same province (Alberta). I kinda figured it was odd they’d ask for a police check they can easily do—does anyone know under what conditions they do ask for a Canadian BG check? Now I’m curious! I’m guessing if you have a record in another country or if they find you’ve been refused at the border?

Again, no nothing to do with having a record in another country. I have a criminal record in the UK and I had spent 16 months in Canada (BC) in one visit previously. I got my PPR today and they didn't request of me a police certificate for Canada at all.
