Thanks for sharing. Start from 12:00 - points for International Students - admitted the necessity to give more points to high-educated students, but they admit the impact is hard to asses and sometimes foreign education (like Oxford :D) with more work experience should not be neglected.

UPD: this video is not connected to CIC officials, there are just two lawyers sharing their opinion about the possible changes

They have also mentioned that minister is looking for higher number of immigrants and bigger immigration program and they dont have to look at that because if the scores got down to 400-450 range there will be more immigrants that means that in order to meet more immigrants requirement the scores will go lower. And there are still lot of thinking and research to do before giving more points to international students it is not easy to just give more points to student which is not worth canadian economy.

Im just hoping the number of ITAs increases, this is more useful in the long run. If the invites increase to 1,500 and then stay at that volume, the score should start to drop eventually. As we've seen, invites of 750 is not enough to bring the score down, and even 1,000 is not really enough to bring the score down a noticeable amount (based on the few rounds of 1,000 earlier this year).

Here's to hoping the ita volume increases tomorrow!

According to this video, Hon. John McCallum said that "a new system" would launched "this fall", rather than "this September", and he kept emphasizing "this fall".

Agree with this. If NO or only FEW PNPs are completed/granted, between Sep 7th & Sep 21st, then we can hope for the score to drop below 491. (again, assuming continuation of 1000+ ITAs).
Question is, how does one find that out - i guess just wait and watch like we have been all along :)

anyone have an idea if any provinces awarded points for a bunch of PNP applicants, since the last draw ?

Looks like the set of number of ITAs is symmetric.

27 Draws in total in 2016. Starts with 5 draws with 1500, then 4 with 1000, 9 with 750. Then I guess another 4 with 1000 (1 already) and 5 with 1500 at the end of the year. :)

I would be curious to know what tracker predictions around 1000 invites would be. I haven't put much time into figuring out the logic around the points required aspect, but would assume we would see points drop to around 475ish again?

Don't take it seriously. It is just an interesting pattern.

I don't take any theory/idea serious when it comes to predictions around what a government will do. :)
