They are working on my wife's case right now in Hong Kong. Unfortunately her parents got into a fight and are foing to divorce. Does this affect anything since the information we gave them was that they are married?

No, and even if it was relevant, it was still true and accurate information on the day that she submitted the application.

Besides...even though they say they are divorcing now, it will likely take much longer than your wife's PR application, so they will still be married when she becomes a PR, right?

I agree with you that it counts dependending on the date of signature. However, divorces in China are just as quick as marrying. It took me literally 10min to be fully married. Chinese, man. They don't waste time lol

I think you can just send a letter to CIC stating that her parents have recently divorced. It should have no bearing on her PR, since they care more about your/her marital/kid status, change of address/phone/email. But you should let them know just to be safe.

She didn't misrepresent her information on her application at the time she submitted it. If there are changes, let CIC know.

You're not sponsoring her parents at this time, right? Then it shouldn't matter (in my humble opinion).
