The most important issue affecting the life of all International Students in Alberta is the backlog of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program. Backlog need to be sorted out in order to function AINP before AINP starts accepting new application by JAN 27th 2016.. We have already chosen Alberta as our home, paid huge tuition fees as well as paying taxes. We are not supposed to be the victim of this trap. AINP should have stopped accepting applications if they were unable to clear the backlog.. It is almost impossible for us to immigrate under the 3 year processing time period because Students get only 2-3 year work permit after their studies. The time is now when Government must react. AINP must find a way to deal with this and should fix it as there is no alternative. This program is too important for the future of Alberta growth. International Students who have graduated outside Alberta are mostly the victims. People under this program have been waiting forever just to get the nomination. We can't even get extension on our work permit as it is almost impossible to get LMIA. Most of our work permits are getting expired by next year.

It was almost same number of files in SRS in jan 2015 but AINP cleared almost 90% of files from this category. It is visible that Alberta Government is being unfair to International Graduates who are waiting from almost 2 years. why AINP is not pulling people who are waiting from more than 21 months?

The issue is that the current rules have no competition or demand in place. Until 2013, it was so easy to get a nomination. For about 5 years you would get a nomination in less than 4 weeks and your job didn't matter much. I know a guy who was a supervisor at A&W that got a nomination making back then, in 2012, $13/hr.

Now demand has increased and they are more applications that certificates available. The solution is simple - Preference for graduates from Alberta, experience, and demand. Filtering out the less competitive applicants is fairly easy. Before Alberta needed to take anybody because of the lack of demand. Now they can afford to be picky and choose those with better education, more experience, higher salary(higher salary = more taxes) and pick only those in jobs in demand just like the US does it. It'll suck for many but that's what the world is... a competition.

WOW...Impressed how you talk. Buddy, answer my question- Why Ainp is gibing nomination to sales person who applied 4-5 months before under SRS and not nominating EDS under the same position applied more than a year before.

well!! how we are suffering !! only we know that pain !! we were paying the same amount of tax and fee when we were students ?? paid similar amount of taxes maybe more !! yet been treated like this !!!!!!!!! where we are at lack just because we did not study in Alberta doesn't make us loser !!! we are as similar as others !! tjis unfair approach is not good regards us .
