I am looking to apply for Canadian Citizenship this month.
I have a doubt to clear.

I am using my Indian Passport as one of my identification document. So , will I have to send two copies of my Passport copy or one is sufficient.

( One passport copy was already required )

If you mean for the 2nd photo ID, you need to use something other than your passport and PR card; so a driving license of health card (if it has all info required, OHIP is fine not sure about other provinces) is normal.

True but it also says to provide photocopies of the biological pages of your passport so everyone I know and a few posts I’ve seen here indicate you can’t use your passport as the same proof of ID.

Even if you don’t have a driving license, you should have a provincial health care to use which would eliminate the concern. What province are you in?

*Edit* Here's the the CIC website says:

photocopies of two (2) pieces of personal identification.

Examples of identification you can use include:

• a copy of the biographic page of your passport/travel document (as requested above and also can be one (1) of your pieces of personal identification)
• driver’s license;
• health insurance card
• senior citizen identification card
• age of majority card
• foreign identity documents, such as a passport or government issued identification documents

So you provide your passport as already required, and one other form, from the list above - driving license on down. Providing your passport info twice won't work; in my opinion. Unless you already have a second passport, possibly.

There is no point in providing two copies of the same document.
Just use one from the list jc94 listed above.

Please provide 2 copies do not trust IRCC guys to assume that u r using passport copy as id i read about a case who did send only one copy and his app was returned reason being he did not include second id. So put in 2 copies

You mean two copies of same passport.

My earlier Passport had expired , now I have the renewed one. So , for Identification I have to provide copies of information from both passport ?

If the expired passport is within the 5 year period then submit a copy, if not then no need. And keep in mind expired passport will not be considered as a valid ID
As for my application, I include a copy of my current passport as 1 ID and driver license as the second ID. No issues.

I have photocopied both New and old passport.
It expired last year only.
