I live in US. I finished my landing process yesterday and returned to US. I will be moving permanently to Canada in 2 months from now, I will still be working for a company in US for at least 6 more months as I have the Visa to work in US.
Is this ok?

Your residency obligation is 2/5 years.

The 5 years in a rolling period, which means that whenever you go back 5 years, you should be able to demonstrate 2 years (730 days) of physical presence in Canada.

For new PR's, the rules are a little different:

You have 5 years since the date of landing to accumulate those 730 days. This technically means that you can land, live outside Canada for 3 years, and then return exactly 730 days before that first 5 year period expires.

Simply, you'll be ok, and yes, living outside Canada for 6 months is perfectly fine and legal.

So are you planning to commute to the US for the 6 months or work remotely ?
