Questions about the PR sponsorship application

I have submitted my application for my wife on July 15th 2016 and the tracking information showed that my application arrived on July 21st 2016. My questions are as follow:
1. It has been one month so far and I havn't received AOR1 on my email yet. What is the maximum usual wait time until receive AOR1?
2. If the wait time is longer than it should be. Who and How can I contact regarding my application?
3. After the PR visa is approved for my wife, how long does she have before land in Canada?
4. While waiting for the PR visa process, can my wife apply for work permit? (We are applying from Thailand).

2. You need to wait until the sponsor approval time has passed before contacting IRCC.

3. The expiry is generally one year from the medical.

4. To qualify for a work permit, she first requires a job offer with a positive LMIA.

After 47 days, they will send me the email notifying my sponsorship approval?
If some people never get AOR1 then how do they know their application status?
Does the CIC just skip the AOR1 but the rest of the process will be undertaken?

Around 47 days, yes, they will email you regarding sponsor approval.

They know when they receive SA.

Yes, IRCC sometimes just skips sending AOR.
