Hello, I’m planning to apply for PR (common-law) inland in BC this month. My current work & study permit will expire in July, so I have a few questions for those with experience:

1. Do I need to apply for an extension as well? If I extend as a visitor, I’ve heard there was an announcement saying that visitors cannot later change to a work permit. In my case, since I’m applying for PR, would that rule still apply?

2. Is it possible to submit the PR application and the open work permit application at the same time? I’ve heard that this might be possible, but I don’t personally know anyone who has done it this way.

3. If both applications are submitted together, how can I check whether I am on maintained status or not?

Thank you very much.
