Hi everyone,
I'm in the middle of applying for Canadian study permit application, however, need to make sure I include every expected bit of information and documents in my application. Some the queries I have are following -
Socio-economic or family ties in Canada and in country of residence -
In order to prove the visa officer that I would return to my country of residence upon completion of authorized stay in Canada, I plan to show the following -
Social ties -
A letter from an NGO stating I've been actively assisting them and they expect me to contribute further upon return to home country.
A letter from my previous university professor stating how Canadian education is essential for my further growth.
Family ties -
An affidavit from my mother listing out all of our extended family and that she would expect me to be by her side in her old age.
Economic ties -
I plan to take education loan from a nationalize bank in my country of residence, I plan to mention it as a financial obligation on me and I am going to be stating about it in my SOP.
I also have medical insurance and a provident fund account with my current employer, not sure if that could be added to provide more weightage to my application?
Language ability -
I plan to apply under Non-SDS category. I have received an unconditional offer from a Canadian university without having to provide IELTS. They have additionally issued me a letter stating the following -
The student has met the English requirement for admission since the student’s undergraduate study was instructed in English and is not required to provide further proof of
English proficiency.
I completed my Bachelors degree in English from a renowned university in India, also did my highschool studies in English where I scored 70+ in English language. I plan to mention about stating in my SOP that I took the following additional elective courses in my undergrad studies where I excelled -
Score in English Subject in 10th grade - 72/100
Score in English Subject in 12th grade - 74/100
Communication Skills - 9/10
Business Communication and Ethics - 10/10
Financial Plan-
My course tuition fee is 7,25,000 INR for two years. So in order to show one year tuition fee + 1 year living expenses + Travel expenses I have following to show-
Savings of 6,00,000 INR with source being my salary of working in past 2 and half year. (I plan to attach Salary slip, bank statements, and Form 16)
Education Loan amounting 7,50,000 INR (I plan to share loan sanction letter)
Funding/Financial support from University of amount 9,50,000 (or CAD 17,000 mentioned in letter of acceptance).
I think the above mentioned finances should be sufficient to cover the cost of education, right?
Last but not the least I plan to address the following in my SOP -
• Purpose of visit. (Would be covered in SOP)
• Immigration status in country of residence. (Would be covered in SOP)
• Length of your proposed study. (Would be covered in SOP)
• Past employment and academic history (Would be covered in SOP)
• Socio-economic or family ties in Canada and in country of residence. (as mentioned above)
• language ability (as mentioned above)
• Financial abilities - Personal assets and financial status/income. (as mentioned above)
• Level of personal establishment. (I received an award from COO of my current organization, which is one of biggest MNC in my country, or should I remove this part?)
• Travel history (the reasons for not being able to Travel abroad).
• Current employment situation (That I plan to resign before travelling to Canada for further studies, or should I just remove this part?
• Employment prospects in country of residence. (Would be covered in SOP)
• Considering the availability of similar programs of study in in your country of residence. (Would be covered in SOP)
• Future prospects and plans (Would be covered in SOP)
