Questions about moving to Canada

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm posting my question in the right place but was hoping I could get some guidance. My husband and I were talking about possibly moving to Canada. There are some companies up there he has had business relationships with in the past and he wanted to explore possible employment with them. Just glancing over this site though, I am getting concerned because he has degenerative disc disease and I am also caregiver for my mom and aunt. My mom has a lot of medical issues so already it's looking like she would never be allowed into Canada and being I'm her caregiver, she needs to be where I am and vice versa. I'm not even sure my husband would be allowed now. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Your husband should be able to get a work permit if he can satisfy immigration that he will not overstay in Canada and if the employer can get an LMO (in order to that that, the employer needs to prove having advertised the job, unable to get Canadians or PR's etc.). If your husbands job there is skilled, you can apply for an open work permit based on his work permit but as you are taking care of your mother, I assume you are not planning on joining him in Canada.

If applying for PR later, your husbands medical condition could be an issue. They will look at how much it will cost their health care. If he applies for PR for himself, he can include you in his application. However, I think you are right that your mother if she has a lot of medical problems would not be approved.
