Dear seniors,

I will be entering Canada with apermanent resident travel document, since my PR expired (death of a family member) and yes I meet the RO requirement. So can I open a bank account with a PRTD?
2) My child who is on TRP, being sponsored, is she eligible for health and child care benefits? When we land in Canada?
Many thanks,

If your PR card is expired you cannot use it as a travel document.
For your child, if they have a valid trp with a case type 80, or 86-95 they can apply for a health card.
For child benefits, the person to apply for it must be a legal valid resident or temporary resident that has lived in canada for the last 18 months, with a valid permit in the 19th month and who has a child under 18 that lives with them.
