Hi All,

I am probably overthinking it, but just wanted to double check.

I applied for PR (CEC) back in August but they sent back my application because of a missing page.
So long story short, I fixed the issue and sent my application again.

I used the same employer letters that I used for my previous application. Question is: Is that okay to use the same letters?

I am particularly asking about the letter from my actual job. The letter is dated from July, 28.

I also included a couple of emails from my supervisor that shows I am still employed in that same job. But

now I am worried in case they want a more up to date reference letter.

Hopefully, I am just over thinking it.

definitely over thinking. they need update to date employer letter only they think current doc can't enough prove your work experience .

like, you start work aug 2013, and you apply sep 2014, but your letter is july 2014. then this is not update to date.

if you star work jan 2013, nothing matter july 2014 or sep 2014 signed on letter.

Thanks, in this case the job started sept 2013 and the letter is from July, 2014

I also have some part-time work to add up. But basically, this is the job that is giving me the full-time hours to apply.

anyway, just make sure the work experience is enough, then it is ok .

they won't assume some period as work experience , if it doesn't mentioned in letter.

like you start Sep 2013, apply sep 2014 , but letter is july 2014 , they won't assume from july 2014 to sep 2014 as your work experience.

The letter says I started back in Sept 2013 and I am still employed and that I work full time hours (35 hours per week)

Would they be okay with that?

I also have some part time work to add to that though

I hope there's a typo above: Sept 2013-July 2014? You applied in August 2014??? Not only did you apply too soon the first imte (and maybe the second time, what was the actual date you started working?) Your letter does not cover a full year of experience. You need a full 12 months / 52 weeks of work experience as a MINIMUM (more is better), and your letter is the primary proof of that. Your letter only proves that you worked ~ 10 months...

I don't know what the emails say, or what the dates are, or how much they will help, but you can't "add" time to your application after you apply, so ...

this make things complex.

the requirement is 12 months of full-time ( or the equivalent in part-time)

so , example. if your 8 hours each day and 12 months of full -time, it is ok

Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week.

so change it into hours then match the part time job.

30 hours * 12 *4 ( I assume 4 weeks per month , maybe not right ) suggest check other topic in this forum to think how to calculate them.

you need do a calcualation based on your work hours.

Okay so I started working on Sept 4, 2014 and the letter is from July 28, 2014.

This is proof if 11 months really (just August to go) and because I have two years worth of part-time work, I qualify.

As far as I know, I can use the part-time work to add up to my hours.

Anyway, now I applied and I used the same letters, but I gave them additional proof that I am still employed and the letter from July says that I am still employed.

Even considering that I applied at the end of July (11 months) and just count that, I have part-time work to add to that.

Do you think I should ask my employer to give me another letter? And send it off?

If your part-time work was skilled, you worked 2 years, and would obviously have more than 60 hours (2 months FTE), and you have the letter for that, then, yes, you should be OK.

Yes, all my work is skilled. I am a professor.

This is the way I calculated it. Sept to end of July (the letter says I am still employed).
Plus 2 years of solid part-time work , plus 8 months of part-time work ( around 105 hours in total).

Equals= 11 months -full time; 2 years part-time which should be equals to a years' worth full-time, plus the 105 hours

Should be okay, because all I really need is 120 hours to cover for August (30 hours *4 weeks= 120). Am I right?

I didn't quite follow all of that, but I think you're OK : ) Sorry, hope we didn't scare you too much : )

then your employer letter should reflect them and your T4 need reflect them too. no matter they are part time or full time.

your period is enough long 2 more years.

all you need is make the VO in same page with you.

I freaked out... but I think I am okay now.. just the initial OMG moment

Okay, so let's see if i can make myself clear

Job 1. Full time- started Sept 4, 2013- I am still employed- letter is dated July, 28 and says my contract started Sept 4, 2013 and that I am still working for them.

Job2- Part time. Started in January 1st 2012- till now- Letter dated July 28

Job 3- Part-time. Jan 1st to April 25, 2013- Part-time

Job 4- March 5- April 27, 2012- 27 hours in total

Job 5- May 5 to June 30, 2012. Part-time

Sorry! When you said "this is the job that is giving me the full-time hours to apply" I thought you mean the part-time work didn't qualify...

OK, well, it would be more clear if you listed the hours for all of them : ) but all you need is the equivalent of 2 months (60 hours) , so I think you're safe : )

@ Jes_On:Sorry for the confusion. I meant that this job is full-time, so it's the one that is giving me more hours .

The amount of hours is listed in the letters, but it's basically 34.5 for my full time job, and part-time for the other jobs.
The part-time work is my teaching job as a prof and they don't pay you per hour; they pay you per course you teach and your status is either part-time or full-time prof. However, I included my contracts so they can have more info.

What do you mean with 2 months (60 hours)? My full-time job started back in Sept 2013 and the letter is dated from July 28, 2014 and also states that I am still employed (hence no end date). So it's clear that I have 1 years' worth of work plus my part-time work.

If they (for some reason) only think my full time job lasted 11 months, I would only need 1 month FTE? am I right? In which case that would be 30 hours per week *4 weeks= 120 hours?

Sorry to be asking so many questions, I just want to have peace of mind. I already had to re-submit my application and can't afford any more delays. A huge thanks to all of you who provided help.
