Question on SPP checklist, India

Okay, I see on the website that ***DO NOT PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS UNLESS REQUESTED TO DO SO BY A VISA
OFFICER, OR YOUR FILE WILL NOT BE GIVEN PRIORITY PROCESSING UNDER SPP.***

With that said, the checklist does not mention anything about the SOP. On the other hand, many on this forum say that attaching the SOP is a great deal.

Can anyone throw some light on this topic if it is okay to attach an SOP "even though" the website says "DO NOT PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS" Doesn't that call for trouble by not following the guideline?

Detailed answer is appreciated much since I will be applying for my visa by next week or the week after that (In Sha Allah) .

Well I had attached lot of document not mentioned in checklist.
1.sop
2.work experience letter
3.income tax return of 3 yrs and form16 .
4.parents tax return
5.saving account of parents and mine.
6.plan of payment.
7.affidavit of support from parents

So depends mostly on case to case basis.if you have gap years justify accordingly .personally I would recommend to attach sop.
Financial proof I showed for entire one year course.Although not required as per spp checklist.so think what need to be attached according to your education.I had mentioned about publication in international journal but didn't submit any published papers.
Fresh students have got visa just following only checklist.some even didn't pay fees still managed to get visa with authentic financial standing.Not even any agent could predict outcome of applications.
Think it as presenting document , infront of officer whom you won't meet ever .only support is your document and sop.
