Hi Guys,

I have a question on India PCC. I am in Canada currently. Since my last passport was issued outside India, I realized that getting PCC via Indian embassy can take long time. Hence I got PCC from police commissioner office.

My question is whether the language in the PCC I got is acceptable. It says "Mr X does not have any criminal history from March 2005 to March 2015 in Y jurisdiction". Staff in the commissioner office said they can issue clearance for last 10 years only.

Do you think the duration and jurisdiction is ok ? Appreciate any feedback.

Hi Pk,

Not sure what procedure you followed to get the PCC and also not sure whatever you got is valid for CIC.

My PCC letter contained a line stating there is no adverse information regarding me which would render me ineligible for travel or getting a visa.

Also PCC takes about a month or maybe more but if that's what CIC expects you should provide them with the same.

My suggestion is you apply for the proper PCC which CIC expects so that you don't run into any issues later.

My PCC also has the same line "no adverse information regarding me which would render me ineligible for travel or getting a visa".

Thanks Mahesh and Clark. I have registered for Express entry. Expecting invitation soon. I posted this question in CEC as more hoping more people will already have experience with this.

Anyone used PCC issued by India police instead of passport office?
