Hey everyone! I’m an international student in Canada working a part-time job. If there’s a statutory holiday and I get a paid day off (stat pay) but don’t actually work on that day, am I allowed to work an extra day during the same week to complete my 24 actual working hours allowed by IRCC?

To clarify — I’m being paid for the stat holiday, but since I’m not physically working that day, I want to make sure I can still work the full 24 hours on other days without breaking any IRCC rules.

Thanks in advance!

If you’re being paid for hours on the stat holiday that you would have worked that count as hours for that week. So no you can’t work another 8 hours for example.
