Hi all,

I filed my PR application in August 2013 and have not received my AOR yet. My case is a bit complicated so I am going to provide some background information.

I am a specialized subject matter expert in SAP which are basically non-existent in Canada. You can count them on one hand for my field (NOC 2171). I am employed in Germany and got transferred to our Canadian office with a work permit for 1 year and after that 3 year (current one). I remain on Germany payroll.
I am a consultant and travel for a living. 2012 and 2013 I traveled to many countries, mostly for vacation and did not stay 1 year straight in Canada (little brakes of 2 weeks in between etc). I applied after 16 months so the net days spent in Canada exceed 365 days.

The interesting part is now, that I got a letter of reference from my company where they state what my monthly fix income is in EUR and what my upfront agreed bonus will look like. Also the amount is stated in CAD with the exchange rate of that day. What's not listed is that the company is providing me housing in Canada (project apartment) which also could be Hotel. Additional they did not specify that I receive per diem. According to German law the first 3 months the per diems can be simply reimbursed and no taxes have to be paid. After this period taxes applies. My company then doubled the per diems and included it as a benefit under my tax slips. After taxes it is the same amount as before. But in truth it is not a real benefit of mine … Also the amount of per diem varies, depending on how many days I spent in Canada for that month.

Is this a problem that they did not mention it in the reference letter?

I got a salary increase in May 2013 which got applied backdated to January 2013. The reference letter has the new salary included and doesn’t mention the old values which was used in 2012.

is this a problem?

Additionally, the NoA can't be referenced to my actual salary on the letter. The NoA has all values in CAD and every month a different exchange rate applies. Also I am only taxable for the actual days I spent in Canada. All remaining days are taxed in Germany [as I wrote above I took some vacations in 2012 and 2013]
I included a supporting document stating above, as well as an excel sheet that translates the numbers. The days also correspond to the Travel History document.

Here again, could this cause trouble?

I can ask my office to provide a new reference letter but if so, what exactly should they write into it?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
Best regards
nsk
