Hi All,

I'm a bit confused which option is the appropriate checkbox for question 1 in IMM1344 (If you are found ineligible to sponsor, Withdraw or proceed?)

Isn't it true that any case that doesn't have an approved sponsor will be refused?

Thanks :-)

I can only answer your first question. "Withdraw" is the best option.

Thanks robrod, that's what I was guessing. To be honest, the question doesn't make much sense to me :( but from what I understand, the first option means if they don't approve the sponsor, they will take the $75 processing fee for sponsor, return the rest of the fees, and won't keep a record?

If this is the case, this seems to be the best option, indeed. Thanks again.

Yes, that question doesn't make sense at all to me either because why would someone want to continue with a process where it has been established that the sponsor can't sponsor.
Perhaps it's some sort of a trick question... hehehe
Good luck, any questions please ask.
Rob.

I just put "Proceed" . I was assuming you would get to try again to be approved if you aren't approved the first time :D I wanted to show them I mean business. 8)

If you choose "Proceed", you retain the right to appeal whatever circumstance caused you to be found ineligible. It buys you time, as the application still goes to the visa office for the evaluation of the applicant's admissibility, and meanwhile the sponsor could rectify whatever made them ineligible. If the applicant is deemed admissible, the application would be denied as there is no eligible sponsor, but then you would go to appeal, show that whatever caused the ineligibility no longer applies and the file would be returned to the visa office for them to finish processing (i.e. issue the applicant's visa).

In the end, whether it makes sense to proceed or withdraw can come down to how much time would be involved.
